Chapter 7 A New Friend

CHAPTER 7

Rose's lips were still locked in Lord Grim's when Rose suddenly pulled away from him.

"What happened, angel?" Grim asked, laughing.

"You just want to take advantage of me, I can see that."

"Don't speak like a child, Rose." This was the first time he was calling her name. It sounded strange on his lips.

"Please I want to be alone," Rose replied.

Lord Grim chuckled, "I know you want to take your revenge on Reed but you can't do that alone. You need guidance."

"I don't need your help, the only reason I'm still here is because of..." Rose wasn't done when Grim cut her short.

"Your Mom?" He asked. Her silence made him laugh more.

"You don't even know what you've gotten yourself into. I'll get my maids to bring you some dresses, dinner is in ten minutes. I don't condone lateness so let that stick now."

"What do you mean by what I've gotten myself into?" Rose blinked her eyes to stop the tears that she had been fighting; she was getting more confused and regretted ever coming to Nostville.

"Your mother would be in the best position to answer your questions but for now, just hope she cares about you enough to return."

"What the hell are you saying? I don't understand a single thing." Rose flared up, panic setting in.

"Do you know one mistake you should never make?" Grim asked her, and she shook her head slowly, moving backward as he walked towards her.

"Raising your voice at me, disobeying me, or doing anything that might trigger my wrath. Oh... you don't want to see that side of me." Her heartbeat increased as he said those words.

"I apologize."

Lord Grim nodded. "Need I remind you that you have no business outside the walls of this castle, I'm doing you a favor. I hope you do know that we are all vampires here and your kind isn't wanted here."

"But...I have vampire blood in me." Rose protested.

"It's clear you don't know your root but don't worry. Time shall tell." Grim concluded and left the room.

"I knew it, I shouldn't have come here. Now I'm just a prisoner, what was the use of coming in search of my mother when she doesn't even care if I exist or not." Rose wept; she regretted coming to Nostville, and she needed to act fast and find a way out of the horrible place she had led herself to.

"Excuse me, my lady," Rose heard a voice by the door immediately Grim left.

"Yes, come in."

A young lady walked into the room, she was in the same age gap as Rose.

"Lord Grim asked me to deliver this to you." She stepped forward and dropped a bag on the bed.

"Okay, thank you," Rose said, but the lady continued speaking.

"I've been assigned as your maid. I'm to ensure you wake up at the right time, bathe, and eat too." The lady said.

"I don't understand but first of all, what's your name?" Rose asked.

"Judy."

"Nice to meet you, Judy. I'm Rose." Rose said and she bowed her head.

"You don't have to act all humble, we can be friends." Rose urged, her eyes scanned Judy. Judy didn't look happy; she wore a long face and tried to act the way she had been trained by Nostville, but Rose knew Judy wasn't a happy lady.

"If Lord Grim ever finds out we are friends, he can kill me, and I don't want that," Judy replied.

"He doesn't have to know, but feel free to call me Lady Rose only in his presence. But call me Rose when we are alone, okay?" Rose urged and Judy nodded her head in agreement.

"Dinner is in seven minutes; please, can you start dressing now? I don't think you should take your bath because you'll end up late, and trust me, Lord Grim hates latecomers."

"Do you guys have a time rule in this place? He's always talking about ten minutes, thirty minutes, and now you too." Rose asked, surprised at Judy's time consciousness.

"You won't understand yet, but pray not to fall into his hands," Judy said.

"Are you a werewolf too?" Judy asked, searching for an outfit from the bag she had brought.

"Yes, why? You are?" Rose asked and Judy nodded.

"But I thought he said only vampires existed here."

Judy laughed for the first time since she entered the room. "He wasn't telling you the truth." She handed over an emerald dress to Rose, it had a strap at the waist.

"Good taste." Rose smiled and collected it. "I can't believe I won't take my bath, I've been like this for days."

"Dinner would be fast so just endure." Judy picked a perfume from the bag and they laughed.

She was finally dressed; she didn't bother to pack her hair up; she just let it down to cover her sweaty skin.

"You look beautiful," Judy said and Rose smiled at her. "Thank you."

Judy handed over a book to Rose, it was already opened to page six.

"Dining rules." Rose read it slowly and looked at Judy. "Seriously?" She lifted the book and laughed dryly.

"I just need you to glance through page 6 and 7 briefly, you'll read the rest later," Judy said.

Rose's eyes scanned the page, as she hummed the words but paused at a particular sentence that caught her attention.

"Strangers (werewolves) must drink the reserved blood every Thursday." Rose looked at Judy for an explanation.

"This is the same mess I've found myself in since three years of running into Lord Grim during an attack on my pack. We don't have a choice." Judy said in defeat.

"No way. How does he expect me to..." Rose was still speaking when she turned to another page.

"Can we check that after dinner? It's two minutes to dinner time?" Judy said, glancing at her black wristwatch.

Rose turned the book to face Judy, "He's having sex with me?" She asked, the pitch of her voice rose at each word.

"Yes," Judy replied coldly. "He didn't tell you?" Judy asked but Rose was too pissed off to reply.

"That's it!" Rose flung the book and stormed out of the room. She wasn't going to be a sex slave for this motherf*cker.
