Chapter 3 THREE- SHE'S BEAUTIFUL

**5 years later**

**Kai**

As I waited in the lobby, watching other people purchase their items and the staff help with their orders, it suddenly occurred to me that it was happening again.

Or rather, it would be happening again.

The planning. The pictures. The interviews. The family visits and dinners. Late night outs together. Buying of gifts.

Everything was playing again, only this time; we were at a different store because she has an attitude problem.

She would take her time and waste mine only to call it off at the dying minute. This would be the third time I'm getting married a to the same woman in the past 5 years.

And if she said no again, then this would be the third time I'd be facing humiliation from her.

Vanessa Myrtle.

The woman whom I met on a blind date 7 years ago that was arranged by my Father. The woman who obsessed over me until she made me end things with my then girlfriend so she could become my girlfriend.

And the woman who has dumped me on the altar 2 times because she claimed she suddenly had cold feet and got away with it because her brother and my father are business partners.

Or rather, because of my father's greed that lets her take advantage of me.

But not again.

If things come to worst, I'll make sure I do the dumping this time around because everything about this marriage and about her is so wrong.

"Kai, what do you think about this one? Beautiful, isn't it?"

She waved her slender fingers at me and I stared back at the ring with a pink diamond on it. I smiled.

"Yeah, not bad."

We were at a RODEO, a store that sold accessories liked Diamond rings, bracelets and watches as well as shoes. And every single time, we would have to choose a different ring and a different shoe as well, which made it more annoying.

"Not bad?"

She asked, her voice becoming high pitched. Vanessa was a spoilt brat who's used to having her way with everything and now, she's about to have her way with me as well.

Lord please save me.

Just then, a lady appeared beside her with silver shoes in her hands and placed them on the floor. Vanessa's face twisted in disgust as she kicked them away, throwing a tantrum.

"I said, I don't like these! What part of that don't you understand, stupid?"

Wer were not the only ones present and she was creating a scene as she yelled at the woman and was about to slap her across the cheek when another lady held her hand firmly in place by the wrist, her hazel eyes glaring at Nessa.

"We don't tolerate customers hitting our staff here."

The woman with dark brown hair told her brusquely. The other lady who's blonde haired stood up gently, picking up the shoes and going to stand behind her.

"Oh my goodness, Kai. Can you imagine? They're ganging up on me."

She said huffing, slinking her arms in mine and making a puppy face. If I didn't intervene right here and right now, things would spiral out of control and it won't be good. I turned and looked at the brown haired woman whose name tag read Mira and smiled.

"Hi. I'm Kai."

I said extending a hand to her. She shook it firmly and then I turned to the blonde haired lady whose head was bent, the shoes she held trembling in her hands.

Nessa had succeeded in scaring the life out of her.

Maybe she was a new staff.

Her name tag read Nora.

"Hi Nora."

I said and she mumbled a reply, avoiding my gaze.

Definitely a new staff.

"I'm going to make sure they close down this place. How dare you treat me with contempt? Do you know who I am?" She threatened, pointing a finger at the both of them while being hysterical.

Nessa. Nessa. Nessa. I sighed, rubbing my temple.

"Babe?" I called out to her.

"Hm?"

"Can you go wait for me in the car? I'll be right with you in a moment." I said, flashing her my most handsome smile. She looked at me, glared at the two women and stomped out of the store. Then I turned to Mira who's hazel eyes were fixed on me.

"I'm sorry about that. It won't happen again." I apologized.

To think that Shirley referred us to this store for their hospitality and Nessa successfully made us look bad once again.

Mira nodded at me in understanding and rubbed Nora on the arm.

"It's fine, Nora." She said soothingly.

Nora looked up at me and for the first time in a long time, I heard my heart go Thump. Thump. Thump as I inhaled sharply.

Gray eyes. Long eyelashes. Pointed nose. A small mouth. She was one word.

Beautiful.

She held my gaze for a moment before looking away shyly and muttering something to Mira as she excused us, going through a door behind.

"Ur..." I scratched my head, feeling very foolish as Mira's eyes followed mine and she frowned at me.

"Your bride is waiting." She said curtly.

"I... sorry. Nora... she's new here ,right?" I asked stalling for time. Vanessa put her head out through the window and yelled something at me.

"No, she isn't. She just doesn't work at the front desk much because she mostly takes records of goods in the store." She glanced behind me. "I think you should go now before she razes down this place."

I turned and saw Nessa coming out of the car, an angry look on her face.

"Thanks for today, Mira."

"You're welcome."

She said in reply as I walked out through the store and went to the car, Nessa scowling at me angrily.

"What were you talking about with her?"

Nora.

But I didn't respond as I planted a light kiss on her cheek and pushed her gently into the car.

"Nothing Babe, nothing but you."
