She also closed up, and I waited for her since it was almost 6 PM. Once she finished, I went back to the dorm and rested
KAIRUS' POV
I don't know why, but I feel something for that nerdy girl. When she said she's not impressed by my handsomeness, it made me angry. Tsk.
Me? Kairus Jei Styles? Not handsome for that nerd? Tsk, I swear I will make her life hell in this university. *Evil smile.*
Class is over, and I don't know whether to go home or not. If I do, I'll just lie on my bed and play games.
So, I decided to go to the library and sleep there. When I reached the library, I saw the nerdy girl. Hmm, so she's a librarian here? I asked myself.
But I didn't care because I was just there to sleep, that's all. When I got to the dark side of the library, I saw nothing. I figured this spot would be perfect for a nap.
I woke up because of my phone ringing. When I looked at it, it was Yael calling, so I answered.
"What?" I said coldly.
"Where are you?" he asked.
"Library," I replied.
"What are you doing there? Don't tell me you're going to take your studies seriously this year?" Yael teased.
"No, I'm just here to sleep," I said.
"Haha, really? Did I wake you up?" Yael laughed.
"You guess," I replied coldly.
"Haha, I think I did. Anyway, come here now to street. We've got a fight," he said.
"Okay, on my way," I said.
I hung up the phone and immediately left the place, driving to the location he mentioned.
When I arrived, I saw Yael, Hendrix, Ark, and Reiv waiting for me. It looked like our opponents were ready too, armed with baseball bats and wooden sticks. Some even had brass knuckles. Tsk, as if we'd let ourselves get beaten. I parked my car and approached the four.
"Good thing you're here," Yael said.
"We thought you wouldn't come," Reiv added.
"Tsk," was all I said.
While we were talking, our opponents approached. Tsk, these idiots never learn. They've fought us multiple times, and we always beat them. Now they've gathered more members and picked another fight. Tsk.
"Good, you're all here," their leader said.
"Tsk, are you excited to lose again?" I taunted.
"With this many people? It's impossible for me to lose again," he said.
There were about 30+ of them, while we were just five. Tsk. And they had weapons too. Fools.
"Really? You think you can beat us just because there's more of you?" I mocked.
"You're always so cocky," he said, clearly irritated.
I smirked, seeing him lose his temper.
"Boss, he's just provoking you," said his right-hand man.
Their leader signaled his group to surround us. Tsk, even if we were only five, we could easily take them down.
Before they could gain the upper hand, I glanced at my friends, and that was the signal. We attacked first. Despite their weapons, they couldn't land a solid hit because we dodged quickly.
Of course, we were avoiding getting hit, as a baseball bat strike would hurt. Tsk.
But that didn't mean we wouldn't use weapons too. One guy swung a bat at me, but I dodged, grabbed the bat, and used it to hit anyone trying to punch or strike me.
My friends did the same. Even though there were many of them, a few still managed to land hits on us. Someone punched me hard, causing my head to tilt.
When I looked, it was the leader of this worthless group. I grinned at him.
"Is that your punch? How weak," I said.
He got angrier and attacked again, but of course, I didn't let him hit me. Tsk.
I kept punching him while he couldn't land a hit. Just as I was about to strike again, someone suddenly intervened.
I felt a blow from behind, but I didn't fall, so I turned around and saw his right hand holding a baseball bat.
I grinned, feeling a surge of excitement. Before focusing on the guy behind me, I made sure to knock down their leader.
Then I turned to face the one who had hit me. He managed to land another strike, but I blocked it with my arm, which hurt because of it.
Instead of groaning, I laughed out loud. I saw the fear in his eyes because now, I wasn't holding back anymore.
I grabbed the baseball bat and hit him hard. He groaned in pain.
But I didn't care about that. All I wanted was to hear him suffer even more.
I didn't care about my surroundings anymore; I just wanted to hurt this guy. I laughed every time he groaned. So, I kept hitting him over and over until he started vomiting blood.
"Hahahahahaha!" I laughed like a madman.
"What's the matter? Does it hurt?" I asked.
Even though it was obvious that he was in pain, I struck him again on the side, causing him to double over in agony.
"Arghhh!" he groaned.
I only laughed in response and hit him again, but this time I only heard a weak groan. It looked like he was close to death.
I was about to finish him off when someone stopped me.
Two hands grabbed my arms, and I looked up to see Hendrix and Reiv.
"That's enough, Kai, or you'll actually kill him," Reiv said seriously.
Maybe he's a playboy, but when it comes to this kind of thing, he's definitely serious.
"Come to your senses, Kai, or you're going to lose it again," Hendrix added.
"We've been calling out to you, but it seemed like you couldn't hear us. Before you could kill him and lose your mind for good, we had to step in," Reiv said.
I glanced at the guy I had been beating up and realized just how much damage I had done to him.
"The fight's over. They're all down, so you can stop now," Ark said.
I looked around and saw that he was right. All of our opponents were lying on the ground.
"When did it end?" I asked.
I lowered the baseball bat and sat on the ground, catching my breath as exhaustion suddenly hit me.
"Ten minutes ago," Ark replied.
"You scared us. We thought you were really going to kill him," Yael said, pointing at the guy I had beaten.
"Are you okay now?" Reiv asked.
"Yeah," I replied.
"Let's go home before someone sees us here," Reiv suggested.
I got up, and we all headed to our cars, but Reiv had me ride in his car while Yael drove mine.
Yael hasn't bought his own car yet because he's still young, but he knows how to drive, so I didn't mind.
While in the car, I stared out the window, replaying everything that had happened earlier. I lost control again, but the difference this time was that I could remember it.
"You really intended to kill him, didn't you?" Reiv said.
"Yeah," I replied.
"It looks like Aunt was right to insist you keep seeing a psychiatrist. Anytime, you could snap and lose yourself again," Reiv said.
I didn't listen to him anymore and just stared outside. We weren't going home to our houses because Mom would definitely notice my injuries.
So, we were heading to our condos instead, as even the others didn't want to go home in this state. We were all bruised, and our parents would definitely be furious if they saw us like this.
When we arrived, the others were just getting there too. We were all staying in the same building, so I quickly went out and walked straight ahead.
When I got to the elevator, I entered, and so did the four others. No one spoke until we reached our condo floor.
I was the first to get out and went straight into my condo. I headed straight for the bathroom because I felt really dirty.
As the water flowed over my body, I just stared blankly. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror.
Yeah, anytime I could return to madness, and that's what my mom fears. I thought I wouldn't go back to that, but I was wrong. It seems it depends on the situation whether my madness will consume me or not.
Since I had classes tomorrow, I decided to push aside my thoughts and decided to go out.
I quickly changed, dried my hair, and went to bed. It's okay; my classes are in the afternoon, but I'll wake up early because I need to have my wound treated at the clinic.
Plus, I still have some files to read, so I might as well get an early start. I want to clear my mind of the worries bothering me.
THE NEXT DAY
After showering and changing, I immediately went down and started my car toward school.
When I arrived, I headed straight for the clinic and brought a jacket because of the bruise on my arm.
The swelling had gone down a bit because I had cut it to reduce the inflammation.
Some students stared at me since I was just in a t-shirt, and I had bruises and cuts.
When I got to the clinic, I immediately entered and looked for the nurse. Luckily, she was there.
"Treat my wound," I said coldly.
She quickly got to work. It was, of course, painful while she cleaned it because of the alcohol.
When she finished cleaning it, she just wrapped my arm, so when she was done, I left and headed to my office.
I took care of everything that needed to be done so that I wouldn't have to return to my office. To be honest, I don't often come here.
It's boring here since the files are just left here by other teachers when they need my signature.
They even told me I should look for an SSG Secretary, but I don't want to because I know the girls will be flirtatious.
After I finished signing everything, I decided to take a nap, but I didn't want to do it here in my office.
So, I went to the library to sleep. When I arrived there, I went straight to the farthest corner where it was dark.
I knew no one would want to sit there because it was dark. When I reached the end, I saw a nerdy girl organizing books on the bookshelf.
But she seemed not to notice me because she was busy. That's why I didn't see her at the librarian's table because she was organizing.
I also didn't pay her any mind because I was still sleepy. So, I covered my face with a book and propped my feet up on the table.
I was sitting on a sofa in the library, so it was fine to sleep there. Thankfully, I was able to doze off.
A few hours later, I woke up because it felt like someone was staring at me. So, I removed the book and saw the nerdy girl looking at me.
But she quickly looked away as soon as I glanced at her. "What?" I said grumpily..
