Chapter 2 Sir, We Are Late

When Renea walked out of the bridal shop, she saw a white BMW parked outside. A woman in a bright red dress stepped out of the car and greeted Jasper with a smile.

The woman was none other than Kailey.

Renea held up her heavy wedding dress and ran toward the car. She wanted to explain to Jasper that she hadn't cheated on him.

However, Jasper didn't even give her a chance to speak. Without looking at Renea, who was running toward him, he opened the door of the BMW and sat down. Then he looked at Kailey, who was standing outside, and urged her to get in.

But Kailey didn't get in. Instead, she looked at Jasper and smiled sweetly. Then, turning toward Renea, who was running over in a mess, she said, "Jasper, you leave first. I have something to talk to Renea about."

Jasper looked at her for a moment before nodding. He then instructed the driver to leave. Soon, his car disappeared into the crowd.

By the time Renea reached them, Jasper was already gone. Seeing this, panic surged through her. She grabbed Kailey's hand and said, "Kailey, Jasper has misunderstood me. You know what happened that day-it was all a misunderstanding. Kailey, please, you have to help me explain to Jasper. You know how much I love him... right?"

Renea's voice trembled as she spoke, her hands shaking as she clutched Kailey's arm.

Kailey held Renea's trembling hand, and the gentle smile on her face vanished, replaced by a cold expression.

She looked at Renea as if she were a fool and said, "Renea, there's no need for you to explain anything."

Renea was so distraught that she didn't notice the cold smile on Kailey's face. She turned in the direction of Jasper's car and said, "No, I have to explain to Jasper. I..."

"What's the point of explaining to someone who planned everything from the start?" Kailey interrupted, shaking off Renea's hand.

Hearing this, Renea froze. She stared at Kailey in confusion, unable-or unwilling-to comprehend the meaning behind her words.

"Why do you look so shocked, Renea? Did you really think Jasper loves you and wanted to marry you?" Kailey sneered. "Let me tell you, the entire video incident was planned by Jasper so he could rid himself of this stupid marriage to you. He's the one who sent you to another man's bed, and he spent a wonderful night with me while you were there."

"Renea, you're just the adopted daughter of the Morris family. Did you really think Mom and Dad would let you inherit the Morris family estate?"

Every word Kailey spoke was like a dagger to Renea's heart, leaving her broken and bleeding.

Kailey's gaze turned icy as she continued, "Renea, why do you look so surprised? You're nothing but a thief-a thief who stole my identity and everything that belongs to me. I'm the real daughter of the Morris family, yet you lived the life of a rich daughter. And now you even want to take the inheritance that's rightfully mine."

"Ha! Dream on! I won't let you have anything that belongs to me-the family, the property, or even Jasper. It's all mine." Kailey said coldly. Her whole face was filled with coldness and viciousness...

Renea froze, her mind spinning as Kailey's words echoed in her ears. In that moment, memories from the past played before her eyes like a movie. She finally understood that everything that had happened was all part of their scheme...

The indulgence from her adoptive parents, her brother leading her to bars, and Kailey's pretense of kindness...

They had only wanted to strip her of her dignity and pride at this very moment.

But why?

What had she done to deserve this from the Morris family?

Renea had been adopted by the Morris family at a young age. At the time, her adoptive parents had told the public that their real daughter was missing and that they had adopted Renea to heal their pain.

When Renea joined the Morris family, she had been overjoyed, thinking she finally had parents like other children. But she had never received love or care from her adoptive parents.

With that, Renea lifted her heavy wedding dress and turned to leave.

Kailey watched her walk away and sneered. Looking at the car parked nearby, she said mockingly, "Renea, you won't get the chance. Tomorrow, the entire city will know that the adopted daughter of the Morris family committed suicide out of guilt and shame."

Renea froze in her tracks, her heart sinking as she turned to face Kailey. She saw the vicious smile on her face.

"Tomorrow, the headlines will be all about you," Kailey said with a cruel grin.

Before Renea could react, Kailey strode forward and shoved her onto the road. As soon as she pushed, Renea, a car sped toward Renea and hit her...

Renea flew through the air because of the force and with a loud "bang" she was thrown to the ground. Renea was lying on the ground as the blood flowed from her head. Her white wedding dress now soaked with blood. Pain shot through her entire body...

Renea looked at Kailey, who stood across the road, smiling mockingly. Her heart filled with regret and despair.

"No... No... I can't die like this," Renea mumbled. Her vision blurred as darkness consumed her. "I have to live... I need to get my revenge..."

But no matter how hard she tried, her body wouldn't move. Slowly the world around her grew quiet, fading to black...

Not far away, a black Rolls-Royce pulled up to the scene. A man in a black suit stepped out and strode toward Renea, checking her pulse. He furrowed his brows and his expression darkened.

At the very moment, another man, wearing a perfectly tailored suit, got out of the car. His striking features ,icy gaze and elegant demeanor radiated authority.

The man in the black suit said, "Sir, we are late."

Aron Kingston frowned deeply. After a moment, he said in a low voice, "Give her a proper burial."
