Chapter 8 The wedding must continue

"Do you think that the issue of your having a child for him is strong enough to stop this marriage? as a matter of fact, this marriage will go on, then after the marriage, you two can ratify the issue through paternity test." The priest concluded.

This was final.

The priest wanted the girl to stay in the church office till after the marriage, but Rohan refused. "the girl must be in police custody until after the wedding."

On the insistence of Rohan, the girl was taken away by the police. She sure will be tortured at the police custody, that would make her to tell the truth. Rohan was sure of that his assistant had already told the police what to do.

The priest asked "where is the bride? Can we go back to the hall for the continuation of the wedding?"

It was high time to continue the wedding, the enemies thought that the wedding will not continue.

But unfortunately for them, the priest, though old was very resolute, he couldn't just cancel the wedding on a flimsy excuse of having a child for the groom.

Many young people these days, do have kids before marriage; though sad, but not unusual and so was not strong reason enough to cancel a marriage.

"where is the bride?" the Priest asked again his eyes slightly slanted towards Rohan.

When the priest asked the question, everyone present looked round.

Rohan frowned slightly, looking round again and again.

The bride was not in the vestry. Her absence was not noticed when the interrogation was going on.

Now it was time to continue with the wedding, she was not in the church office.

The parents of the girl and the bridesmaid were by now wondering what was keeping the girl so long in the restroom.

The bridesmaid went to the restroom to knock but there was no answer. She pushed the door open, but no one was there. she was alarmed.

She rushed out to tell the parents of the girl that she was not there. And at that moment, Rohan and his assistant and the two priests had come out of the vestry to see if she was with her parents. Alas! She was not with them.

Everyone was dumbstruck for a while

Confusion everywhere.

They started looking for the bride everywhere, but she was nowhere to be found.

Chin Jane; the mother of the bride turned around in panic and looked alert and worried.

What is going on? Where is Chin Sun? she moved from one corner to the other to look for her daughter.

Soon the whole church got to know that the bride was missing!

Another round of media; the social media, the magazines, the newspapers update started immediately. Those from the newspapers and magazines, where updating their offices. While those on social media, where updating their friends via smartphones.

No one dare goes near to Rohan to take his pictures. But those who had his pictures already were uploading with some funny headlines.

"Woman interrupts Bon-Hwa Rohan Fernando's wedding, bride missing" they posted.

"Bon-Hwa Rohan Fernando's bride missing" another person posted. Luckily, the bride's pictures could not be found by any social media.

In the past, Rohan had never gone on any social function with Chin Sun. Anytime he wants to go on an occasion, he picks one fish from one of his pools.

And so many fishes were hustling to be picked by him.

Chin Sun had on several occasions wanted to react on his promiscuous lifestyle, but the mother Jane would always caution her "Relax until you get married to him, if you over react now that you are not his wife yet, he may push you out of his life.

So Chin Sun had been enduring all the scandals, neglect from him; which was part of the reasons why he never took pictures with her or gone out with her.

So only Rohan's pictures were posted alongside these headlines.

"Another thunderstruck on Bon-Hwa Rohan Fernando" they continued.

Rohan and his men were so engrossed with looking for Chin Sun that they never gone on social media to find what was going on.

Why would someone in the middle of his marriage go on social media?

Those of his men who saw the headlines, where not capable of stopping the news. And they could not inform him at this point in time.

Everyone was confused, going up and down looking for the bride.

It had taken about thirty-five minutes for the interrogation, now it was going to take God knows when to find the bride.

The whole church premise was in confusion; people were loitering everywhere.

Some who were tired of the whole scenario, where going home, while some where just coming in now; to find out what is going on.

It was at this moment that Chin Cho came in and started asking what was going on.

She was not on social media; she had lost her smart phone few months ago. And right now, she was using a small phone that cannot access any social media network, otherwise, she would have received the post.

When Chin Cho was still talking with the friendly looking woman, before the woman could open her mouth to explain to her what was going on, someone tapped her on the shoulder.

She involuntarily looked back, it was her father; Chin Elvis who was also the father of the missing bride.

Chin Elvis was looking haggard and defeated. She wondered what was going on to have made her father looked so harassed.

The bride Chin Sun was nowhere to be found, Rohan called her on the phone, she refused to pick.

But when her father called her, she picked and told her father that there was no need looking for her, she has made up her mind, she would no longer marry Rohan again.

Her father and mother pleaded on the phone for her to turn back and save them from the embarrassment, but all the pleas fell on deaf ears.

The next thing, she sent a text message to both Rohan and her parents, they should not bother about her, she would sell her wedding gown and Jewelries and sponsor herself to anywhere she wanted.

Rohan tried to capture her location through his phone, but she intuitively switched off.
