Chapter 5 Julian’s past

Four years ago, on New Years Eve, Mrs. Olivia Wood and Mr. Dan Wood, parents of Julian and Rebecca were out buying supplies for New Year’s party.

Rebecca was a year old and Julian was fourteen. Julian never liked the arrival of Becca as he felt embarrassed to say that he had a sister ten years younger to him.

Mrs. Smith was busy with the house chores when the phone rang.!

“Hello. Wood residence” said Mrs. Smith

As the clock ticked every second, Mrs. Smith’s smile faded and eyes started to well up.

With a huge cry she said “Oh my god!!! Which hospital?”

She dropped the phone, ran to switch off the stove top, picked up Rebecca and ran to Julian’s room up the stairs.

“Mr. Julian quick your parents are in the hospital. Don’t ask me anything now. Just pick your phone and wallet and come fast”

Julian was puzzled and froze in place.

“Julian, now….” screamed Mrs. Smith

Julian rushed to the car along with Mrs. Smith and Rebecca. Mrs. Smith picked up the pace and rushed to the hospital.

In no time all three were at the hospitals parking lot, parking and rushing to the front desk asking for Mrs. and Mr. Wood.

“The Woods had a terrible accident dashing into an oil tanker, which caught on fire. The fire caught on to their car fast. They both have seventy five percent burn marks on their body. The doctors are doing their best in the ICU to treat them. They both are in critical condition. It’s too soon to say anything or let you all inside yet. Please wait in the waiting area until further updates from the specialists” said the doctor.

Julian froze in place and his emotions were confused. He dint speak a word.

Mrs. Smith found a safe spot in the waiting zone for the kids and went to get water for them.

Julian’s first thoughts were ‘What if they die?’
