Chapter 6 Girlfriend

The school doctor attended to the injury on Mateo's leg and gave him some painkillers.

"Take this twice daily, it'll ease the pain on your ankle" The doctor added before dismissing them.

"thank you doctor. We'll get going now." Kristal said as she collected the drugs from him and helped Mateo up to his feet.

"it seems Mateo treats you well huh? He has never been good with girls.... I don't know if you're lucky or unlucky." The doctor told Kristal making her face turn red.

"Uh...we're not..." Kristal objected as she hurriedly let go of Mateo's hand earning a chuckle from the doctor.

"......I understand you are embarrassed. I know Mateo, he'll treat you well" he added.

"Stephan! It seems you're tired of your job" Mateo glared at the doctor as he grabbed Kristal's hand before storming out. On getting outside, Kristal snatched her arm from his hands and asked

"Why didn't you tell him we're not dating!?!?!? I don't even know you!"

"Are you that embarrassed to be with me?" Mateo asked with a smirk dancing on his lips.

"Hello! I don't know you!" Kristal said ignoring his question making him grin.

"you know my name....my name is me....so you know me....and since you didn't say that you can't date me, that makes us couples!" Mateo announced as he spread his arms triumphantly.

"what did you say???? I'm not dating you!! I can't......"

"...dear, dear were couples now" Mateo stated without leaving room for any counter attack.

"What did I get myself into?" Kristal asked herself before adding "I enjoy my quiet life you know?"

"I know you enjoy your miserable boring life that's why I've come to make it lively" Mateo smiled.

'now I think he staged that fight himself she thought. Just before she could voice out her thoughts, he tummy growled loud enough for him to hear.

"I want to disappear" she thought with embarrassment as she hung her head low.

Mateo chuckled "how adorable...let's go get you something to eat" he said as he carried her and walked to the cafeteria.

"Hey!! Put me down!! Ah!! Put me down!!" Kristal shrieked.

"no can do babe" Mateo said and continued walking

Kristal had no choice but to stay still. "how is your ankle?" She asked awkwardly.

"Aww trying to be a caring girlfriend aye..." He teased before replying "it's good as new....and now we're at the cafeteria " He said as he stood in front door.

"Okay thank you...you can put me down now" Kristal sighed.

"You wish!" Matteo said as he trotted to the entrance while carrying her.

As soon as he entered, all eyes fell on him. Girls were admiring him, boys were envious of his good looks.

"what in the world!?!??!?!" A girl screamed

"Mateo is carrying Kristal!?!?"

The whole crowd went up in a frenzy making Kristal Bury her face in his chest.

"Weird....why am I comfortable with this guy! Too much loneliness *sigh*"

"please spare me from making more enemies" she begged him but it seem to fall on deaf ears. She froze I his arms when she heard his next statement.

"My girlfriend and I would like to have our lunch in peace, so behave. As you can see, she's still recovering"

Having said that, he walked to the reserved spot and sat Kristal down.

Meanwhile, a girl was seething in anger with her fist tightened.

After lunch, everyone went back to class with the same topic on their lips.

"Kristal is dating the school's proprietor"

Due to her being anti social, she never knew who he was and it didn't bother her.

"Mateo, why are you following me? I don't know you apart from your name and you've already made my day dramatic!" she questioned him with frustration written on her face.

"do you believe in love at first sight?" he asked seriously.

Kristal stared at him blankly before laughing "jeez that stuff is only in fairy-tale books with happily ever after. It doesn't exist!" Kristal face palmed. "who would want to fall I love with a loser like me" she thought mockingly.

Seeing her facial expressions changing, he smiled "well, it's not my fault I fell in love with you at first sight...you tripped me" he grinned.

Some students who were heading to their classes heard what Mateo had said.

"he just admitted he loved her?"

"Beatrice is gonna be mad! Ha!"

"Yeah....can't wait for her to rip Kristal's head off her neck"

Kristal heard them but acted like she didn't, instead she faced Mateo while composing herself.

"they're planning my death now, please let me have my peaceful life again" she begged as she fiddled with her nails.

Turning to leave, he grabbed her hand "I'm never letting you go.....you're my girlfriend babe"

"Whatever" Kristal hissed and went to class.

On her way to the class, she caught Beatrice sending death glare her way. Ignoring her, she went to sit down.

"Just because he carried you, you're acting all high and mighty....he is mine. Trust me, he'll come for me when he's done with you " Beatrice mocked as soon as she got to Kristal's seat.

She hadn't seen her since the hair incident so she forgot how Kristal looked. Kristal's brownish hair glowed as the sun shone on it making her appear like an angel.

Kristal had packed her hair in a sleek ponytail that morning but at the moment, it was loosened. Thereby revealing her lengthy hair. This sight broke Beatrice heart. When she

"you think your hair is long huh? I'll prove to everyone that you're putting on wig!"

She yelled and tried to grab Kristal's hair who glided backwards on her chair.

"Huh!? How is my hair related to Mateo being my boyfriend? Do I have to remind you who is putting on a wig?" Kristal asked with raised brow making Beatrice clench her fist.

"you...you seduced him! He asked me to be his girlfriend after I put you in coma!" Beatrice said making Kristal frown.

"whatever, I'm not his......." before Kristal could compete her statement, she heard Mateo's voice.

"....who disturbed my girlfriend?"

Kristal face palmed while Beatrice smiled mischievously.

"Babe, Kristal insulted me!" Beatrice accused making the whole class look at her with distaste.

Ignoring them, Kristal grabbed her backpack and left the class.

"Uhhh, do I know you?" Matteo asked Beatrice with a questioning look on his face causing the whole class to laugh at her.

"Ma....Mateo...what'd you mean? We slept..."

"Not another word from you!" Mateo silenced her and walked after Kristal.

After looking for her for some time, he saw her coming out of the principal's office with a smile on her face. Thinking she'd go back to the school, he saw her head towards the gate so he walked up to her.

"Where's my girlfriend going?"

"One, am not your girlfriend, two, you don't have to know where am going!" Kristal said and walked away. As soon as she left.

A small creature with the body of a human and small wings appeared from no where and spoke "she took a leave of absence. She won't be in school tomorrow."

Mateo frowned "hmmm"

The creature stuttered "uhmm.....don't you think...uh...er....you were a bit over bearing... I think you scared her"

"whatever, she's mine! Buzz off and don't talk till I tell you to!" Mateo ordered the creature who whimpered before disappearing.

"dear Girlfriend" he thought with a smile.
