Chapter 3 Witch

The next day came in a hurry which was rather annoying for Kristal.

Her mother was in the kitchen preparing breakfast when Kristal and her father walked in.

"Bye mom"

"See ya"

The said in unison as they exited the house.

"Aren't you having your breakfast?" Maurice asked as she ran to the door.

"I'm not hungry" the father and daughter duo replied as they entered the car and drove off.

"Oh well, more food for me!" Maurice exclaimed as she went back to the kitchen.

On their way to school, Lucas tried to cheer up his daughter who was moody. "hey firefly, try this. When you throw a butter out of the window, what will you see?"

"Butterfly" She answered dryly while her gaze was locked outside the window making him sigh.

"How about you tell me about your dream?" he asked instead.

Kristal hummed before tearing her gaze from the window. Sighing, she narrated her dream to her father who listened with attention.

".....I felt the pain physically" she added as she concluded.

Her father sighed before making a left turn on the road.

"I'm not sure why you had that dream, all I'm sure of is am here for you. Okay?" he said as he placed his hand on his daughter's hand that was toying with her skirt.

"Okay. Thanks dad" Kristal smiled.

Lucas chuckled "you don't have to thank me, you're my firefly" he said as he pulled over in front of Kristal's school making her giggle.

The duo alighted from the car and made their way to the principal's office. Most of the students looked at her with disgusting look, while the minority of them minded their businesses.

They arrived at the principal's office shortly. Soon, Beatrice and her mother walked in. As usual, she had her nose in the air like an arrogant queen.

As soon as she set her eyes on Kristal, she became filled with rage. Just as she was about to dish curses to Kristal, her mother spoke up after sitting down comfortably.

"Principal Caldwell, can we get over with it? I have to be at the office"

*hmph! Arrogance runs in the blood* Kristal mind linked her father while maintaining a poker face.

*it sure does* her father replied with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

Clearing his throat, the principal explained the whole incidence starting with how Beatrice framed Kristal for cheating and the restroom incident.

"Mrs. Powell, your daughter needs to be cautioned or she'll have herself expelled" the principal warmed sternly.

"you can't expel me! My dad is the largest shareholder!" Beatrice yelled

"that's enough young lady!" her mother spat at her.

"mom, did you just yell at me?" Beatrice asked as she turned to face Kristal. "it's all because of this witch huh?"

"I....I'm not a witch" Kristal stuttered as she moved back a bit.

Slowly making her way to Kristal, she spoke like she was possessed.

"you aren't a witch!? Ha! You wish! Who else has a deathly pale skin and weirdly long hair!!!??? Huh?" she paused in her tracks before saying "speaking of which, ma! My hair!!" Beatrice went back to being a spoilt daughter hoping to earn her mother's pity.

"Louise, is this how you trained her?" Lucas asked Mrs Powell with disappointment written on her face.

"apparently its her father's fault!" Louise answered with scorn written on her face.

Kristal and Beatrice exchanged looks.

"her father spoils her much to my dissatisfaction"

"Mom, you know him?"

Just as Louise was about to reply her daughter snapped "well I don't care! Your friend's witchy daughter ruined my hair!!!! She has to pay for it!!"

"I didn't hold a lighter to her hair" Kristal said meekly when the principal looked at her.

"But you set my hair on fire you witch!! You're a monster!!!" Beatrice yelled.

"Beatrice that's enough! Maybe you used too much chemicals on your hair or something. After all, you die your hair twice a week so don't blame Kristal! Your father never listened to me when I said you shouldn't be changing your hair colour. Now that your hair is ruined you're blaming the young girl! You should be ashamed of yourself!" Louise spat at her daughter who was about to break down in tears.

"but...but mom...she's not human! I caught her freezing the fish pond!"

Kristal and her father exchanged weird looks before mind linking themselves.

*how would I freeze a fish pond??*

*you're allergic to fish! It's obvious someone is already After your head* her father said making Kristal wonder.

"I said enough!!! Not only are you sick, you're acting like someone that has lost her mind! That's it! You're coming home with me!!"

"Mrs. Powell, you can't just take her home without a plausible explanation " the principal objected after listening to their ramblings.

"I see, well suspend her for today! She's in big time trouble already!" she replied as she look up from her phone that has been vibrating non stop.

Having lost the ability to say no to her, he agreed and Write a letter of suspension for Beatrice. Afterwards, he told the girls to wait outside.

"you think you've won? Just know you haven't and you'll never win! I'll make your life in this school a living he'll!" Beatrice threatened.

"instead of worrying about me, worry about your hair......" Kristal paused with a snicker "sorry your head....or better still, think of loads of excuses you're going to tell your parents when you get home" Having said her piece, she turned to leave before saying "nice wig by the way" Making Beatrice shake in anger. Soon she strolled off to the garage while fighting the urge to teleport.

Beatrice stood still fuming in anger. Moments later, their parents walked out of the room. Louise walked up to Beatrice and dealt her a hard slap on her cheek.

"You have a lot of explanation to do!" with that said she pulled Beatrice's ear as she left the executive block of the school under the curious gaze of the students. Making Beatrice curse Kristal inwardly.

Lucas walked to the garage with a small smile on his face.

"so how'd it go?" Kristal asked.

"nothing special happened after you left. Aren't you going to ask how I knew Beatrice's mom?" Lucas asked.

"No, I'm not interested.....I have other things in mind" Kristal answered her father. "someone is after me" she sighed.

Feeling his daughter's fear, he hugged her. "don't think too much. We'll work it out. Okay?" Kristal hummed before letting go of him.

"I have to head to class."

"yeah right. Be good" Lucas patted her head before leaving her to go for her class.

As soon as she walked into her class, her classmates looked at her weirdly like she had grown horns. Slowly, she walked to her seat with her backpack hanging over her shoulders and sat down.

Soon after, class started and everything went back to normal.

After the days exercise, Kristal was about to leave the class when something caught her attention outside the window.

A figure was moving slowly in the field.

"Weird" she thought.

No one else could see the figure because it was invisible. She studied its movement for a while. Suddenly, the figure stopped moving. It seemed that the figure felt the stare that was being directed at it before it faded with the environment.

However, it left after dropping a message on a flower petal.
