Chapter 2 Nightmare

Kristal remained in her room all day. Her father felt her presence as soon as she arrived but chose not to go to her at that moment. However, her mother didn't feel her arrival.

As soon as she appeared in her room, she undressed herself and walked to her bathroom to shower. She came out few minute later drying her black hair. Afterwards, she got dressed in her blue pyjamas and went down the stairs to the dining for dinner.

"oh, you're back?" Maurice asked

"Yeah" she muttered under her breath. Which annoyed her mother.

"I understand the fact that you don't talk much, but for heaven's sake you are at home!" Her mother face palmed.

"I came for dinner, not for chit chats right?" Kristal asked no one in particular.

Her father understood her and diverted the topic. After sometime, Kristal loosened up and joined the conversation. While talking, a phone call came in from her school. Her father looked at her. Kristal could already tell that it was the school, hence, she didn't say anything and continued with her meal silently.

Her father excused himself to answer the call. Thirty minutes later, he walked in with a frown on his face.

"am I expelled?" Kristal asked earning a questioning look from her parents.

"do you want to be expelled?" her mother asked with raised brow.

"No, but if I get fed up with the school, I'd love the idea." She said mockingly.

Maurice rolled her eyes inwardly before turning to face her husband "what was the call about?"

"she was bullied again....twice" her father stated coldly as he stared at his daughter who was drinking water.

"Oh....okay...was that why they called?" Maurice probed further.

"Not really, the principal actually asked to see us tomorrow" he answered his wife before mind linking his daughter.

*mind telling me what happened?*

*after dinner* she replied curtly.

"Thanks mom and dad..." she stood up as she took her plate and cup to the kitchen. She walked to the stairs but was stopped by her mother.

"what time did you come back from school honey?"

"well duh came quite early. Why?" Kristal asked

"Just wondering... well, I didn't see you walk through the door and....." Maurice got interrupted by her

"that was because you were busy thinking of how you'd get dad to make babies" Kristal stated bluntly and then walked up the stairs.

Maurice's face turned pink in embarrassment as she hurriedly walked to the kitchen.

Lucas frowned, before heading for his daughter's room.

Kristal's room

Knock knock

"Dad, you could enter my room without the door being there you know?" Kristal thought with a smile.

"Yeah I know, I wouldn't want to walk in on you when you're probably doing stuffs I shouldn't know of" Lucas answered as he walked in and sat on her bed.

"now, firefly what happened?"

Kristal narrated everything that happened to her father nervously, thinking that he'd get mad at her for using her powers in school. Fortunately, his reaction was not what she expected.

"Wow! That was awesome!"

Kristal: (@_@) "it is?"

Her father chuckled "of course! She deserves it! No one gets to say rubbish about my firefly and get away with it! She is lucky I wasn't present...if not, she'd know who the real monster is!" he snorted making Kristal laugh.

Lucas smiled seeing that his daughter was smiling now.

"I know you were not satisfied with your meal, so I brought you this..." He said as he brought out a black box.

"huh? Where'd you get that from?" Kristal asked

"I brought it with me....why?" Lucas defended

"no way! It wasn't with you when you came in!" she accused jokingly.

"Oh well you caught me....Instead of asking how I got it, eat your meal and finish up your assignments" Lucas chuckled before walking out of the room. "goodnight firefly" he sent her flying kisses before leaving the room.

"I'm not sleeping yet" Kristal chuckled before heading for her study table. Afterwards, she worked on her assignments before eating the candied donuts her father brought for her.

Moments later, she wrapped herself with her blanket before turning off her bed side lamp. Soon, she zoned into the dream land.

Meanwhile, Maurice sat in the kitchen which was shrouded in darkness as she murmured some incoherent words to herself. Lucas stood far behind as he recorded the scene with disbelief and one thought running through his mind.

"She's not my wife." As if alerted of the presence of someone else in the room, Maurice turned to check if someone was with her only to discover that she was alone.

However, Kristal walked battling with a dream.

Opening her eyes, she found herself in a dungeon with skulls that held candles. The environment stunk of dried blood. Slowly, her feet dragged her to a room with several doors. Wondering how she got there, she looked behind only to discover that there was no door behind her. Scared to her bones, she touched the door knob of one of the doors and soon disappeared. She opened her eyes again to see that she was surrounded by dead bodies of women with white hair which was now stained with blood. A chill ram down her spine. Following the trail, she discovered they led to a cell which was well hidden with the use of magic. There she saw a woman who was bruised. Her clothes were stained with blood. She had white hair like hers. Being a curious cat, Kristal approached the woman in the cell. Just as she was about to touch the woman, the woman disappeared leaving a cloud of thick smoke behind. A figure appeared from with blood dripping from the hands.

"You are mine"

As soon as she heard the voice, she started running away for no reason but based on her instincts. Soon, she heard the sounds of heavy footsteps trailing her. Shaken with fear, she tripped and fell.

"I've got you now"

The voice said. Trying to look at the sound of the voice, she felt a sharp pain in her chest which made her scream in anguish.

"Kris."

"Kris!!!."

"...Kristal wake up!!!!" her father called her thereby waking her up from the dream.

She stared at him blankly without saying anything.

"firefly..? Its me! Your dad! Wake up!!" she stared at him for a while before she started sobbing.

"Da..dad..."

"shh shh it's okay...am here!" Lucas said as he hugged her like she's a fragile doll

"Dad....am scared" she whimpered as she shuddered in her father's embrace. Although, she's an introvert, for the first time in her life she was scared. Scared of the unknown. Scared of having dreams. Scared for herself.
