Chapter 10 Visiting girlfriend

After the brief confession, Mateo slept off leaving the blanket blanket for Kristal to use. After awhile, she turned to face him slowly. She observed his facial features.

"how come I didn't realise how hot he looked?" she thought with a smile.

Unconsciously, she trailed her slim fingers on his pointed nose down to his heart shaped lips and to his Adam's apple before stopping abruptly.

"What am I doing?" she asked herself with embarrassment before turning to face the ceiling. She didn't see the smile that crept up his lips.

The duo slept peacefully till it was time for dinner. Kristal's growling stomach woke her up as she sat on the bed with her hair messed up. She looked at the empty spot near her and her face dropped.

"tch...someone that wants to protect me" she scoffed before getting down and heading to the toilet to ease herself.

After doing her business, she went to the living room to check if Mateo had gone. On getting to the entrance of the living room, she perceived the aroma of spiced noodles which made her tummy rumble.

Slowly, she approached the kitchen to check who was whipping such delicacy.

"Oh you're awake? Good! Dinner will be ready in five" Mateo said and returned to the kitchen.

Five minutes later, dinner was served. Kristal sat in the living room as she stared blankly at the TV.

"dinner is ready!" Mateo announced as he served Kristal.

"how am I sure that you didn't add love potion in it or something?" she asked as she stared at the bowl of noodles in her hand.

"why not have a bite and then you can tell me" Mateo teased her as he sat next to her and slurped on his noodles.

After a while, Kristal reluctantly took a bite. Without saying anything, she rushed the noodles making Mateo smile.

"Glad you like it." He said.

"hmmm" Kristal hummed and continued with her meal. The duo ate in silence which was rather comfortable for them.

After eating, Kristal gathered the plates and went to the kitchen to wash them before she was stopped by Mateo.

"babe, you can't do the dishes" he said and collected them from her before heading to the basin to wash the plates.

"It's something I can do, you know?" Kristal asked as she leaned on the counter.

"Yeah, I know. But as my girlfriend, you are not permitted to do such works." He stated.

Kristal rolled her eyes at him before sitting on the counter. Weirdly enough, she felt more relaxed around him as he washed the dishes.

"Are you sure you didn't put love potion in the noodles?" she asked again as she stared at his side profile. Mateo chuckled as he dried his hands with a napkin. Slowly, he walked to her "are you in love with me already?" He asked with a smirk on his lips.

"ugh! No!" Kristal exclaimed as she pushed him and ran out of the kitchen with flushed cheeks.

Moments later, they settled in the parlour as they watched movies. Few minutes into the movie, Kristal slept off causing Mateo to smile widely. He got up from his position and walked up to her. He carried her in a bridal style as he approached her room.

"Sleepy head." He thought as he dropped her on the bed before tucking her in. Checking the wall clock in her room, he sighed. "My time is up. See you tomorrow." He said as he pushed a strand of her hair behind her ear.

He left her room after dropping a note on her bedside table. As soon as he exited the room, he felt a strong pull towards a wall. Just as he was about to touch it, he heard Kristal's father drive in. He glanced back at the wall before disappearing.

As soon as he left, Lucas appeared in front of Kristal's door.

"firefly? Are you sleeping?" he asked.

On getting no response, he opened her door slowly. He walked in and dropped the things he had bought for her on a big table before turning off her lamp.

The following morning.

Kristal happened to be in a good mood as she hummed to her favourite song as she dressed for school. She turned to her bedside table and smiled as she remembered the note she saw on it.

" Good morning girlfriend. Rise and shine. We are going on a date today."

"How can we go on a date when we're not dating?" Kristal asked herself with a smile. Shaking her head, she strolled to her full body mirror to cross check her appearance.

"Now, I'm a spec!" she said to herself as she teleported to the dining room.

"Mr. Lucas! Good morning!" she greeted her dad as she hugged him.

"Seems like you're in a good mood today huh?" he asked her with a smile.

"Well, today is a good day." She replied as she slid to the kitchen to have her breakfast.

Lucas chuckled as he drank his black coffee before adjusting his tie.

"Seems like you're going to work today." Kristal pointed out when she came out of the kitchen while holding a red flask.

"Yeah. Young lady, I always work. You're sounding like I don't work." Her father frowned at her.

"Dad, that's not what I meant." Kristal defended herself as she walked out of the living room to the garage with her dad in tow.

"Yeah right, get in." Lucas said as he gestured to the black Bentley to which Kristal obeyed.

The duo drove off to Kristal's school with different thoughts going on in their heads. After a while, Lucas asked Kristal about her "boyfriend"

"Dad! He's not my boyfriend! I only know his name!" Kristal pouted. Her reaction made her father laugh loudly.

"it seems my dear girl is about to get herself a man eh?" he teased further.

"Dad! I'm only seventeen!!" She face palmed before adding "besides, I'm happy with my single self."

Lucas stopped driving as he waited for the traffic light to turn green before facing his daughter. "Firefly, at a point in your life, you'll need fun or better still, you'll need a man."

"What? Dad! You know what, don't talk to me again!" she frowned and then faced the window.

Throughout the rest of the ride, she ignored her dad completely till they got to her school.

"Uhh come on firefly! You can't stay mad at me you know?"

Kristal rolled her eyes inwardly before bidding her father goodbye.

As soon as she got to class, she a pile of chocolate bars on her desk which her frown. Slowly, she walked to her seat as the others students looked at her with envy and disgust.

"seems like Kristal isn't so pure after all."

"Yeah, who would give her this brand of chocolates?"

"She's such a flower vase!" the students spat at her. On seeing the brand of the chocolate, she became angry as she thought of the person who could do it.

"Mateo!!"
