Chapter 6 Dino's Abduction Mitah's Abduction

Dino was in his house, having dinner when he heard some noises. Then, three hefty men entered. Before he knew what was happening, he was lifted, tied up and put in a car. No one was at home. Amanda, his sister wasn't home and their maid, Kijo had gone to buy food items

Amanda decided to call Mitah when came back and realized what happened. When she got home, and didn't meet anybody, she decided to question their neighbour, who told her that they saw some masked men when they took Dino into their car, but they couldn't do anything to stop them because they were scared. She called Mitah and told her what happened, as she could not think of any other person to call. Mitah was shocked hearing this.

"Dino kidnapped?My God! Okay, I'm coming. I'll be with you shortly". She said as she hung up, looking very unsettled. Meanwhile, her father was in the sitting room. He asked what the problem was and Mitah told him. "What? Kidnapped? That's strange". Lati said .And then Mitah looked at her father suspiciously.

"Dad. do you...."

"I don't know about his abduction Mitah. If that's what you want to ask."

He said going inside. Lati saw her

going out and he didn't bother asking where.

"Not another scene". He thought.

Mitah stayed with Amanda at Dino's house for about three hours. They were both worried and they put a call to the police station. Mitah kept wondering who could have kidnapped him. She kept pacing all over the sitting room. Amanda was already crying and Mitah went ahead to console her, putting her head on her chest and assuring her that he would be found. Mitah was obviously scared too, with chills over her body and did not want to imagine any negative outcome. Just then, She checked the wall clock in the sitting room ..

"My God. It's 7pm already. I am sorry Amanda but I need to get going. Lucas must have been crying so much. He must be hungry too. I left him with Lupam. He really can't do without me for long. I will keep trying to get help as much as I can. I would have told my father but you know how he can be", Mitah said in a sad tone.

"It's okay Mitah. I understand. Drive safely" Amanda said as she stood up to hugg her. They were both crying.

"It"s okay"Amanda patted her realizing how hurt she was too. She opened the door for Mitah and just as she was about leaving Amanda stopped her.

"Wait Mitah."she said her eyes still filled with tears. "Is Lucas really Dino's baby or not? Did you lie to him about it?. I don't want you lying to me Mitah"..

Mitah stared at the ground as she fumbled with her car keys. "I had no choice Amanda. I never wanted to lie to him" She replied now staring at her

Amanda nodded her head as she clearly understood her response. "Its okay. You should get going now Mitah. It's already late"

"I know. I am sorry" Mitah said as she finally walked to her car. Amanda watched her zoom off, then she entered.

Mitah was on her way home, still worried and disturbed about Dino. She prayed he was safe and eventually found and when he is found, she would probably tell him the truth elope with him not caring what her father would say or do.. She hurt him, lied to him about the child, it was too much for her. She thought. She still continued to drive along fighting her tears from coming out. Out of no where a car zoomed in front of her and alas! She was abducted from her car unconscious! as she was forced to inhale a chemical. And the car

zoomed off.

The car finally got to its destination. It was like a hideout. Some set of thugs had abducted her. She was now conscious and wondered where she was. She was tied with chains on her hands and legs. "Who are you people? She asked". Untie me! "What do you want from me? Then, a guy alighted. He was tall and was wearing a suit. Mitah felt she knew him. "Hello .. my dear" Nopaz said smiling. "Are you hurt? I'm sorry Honey".

"Nopaz you abducted me? Why? Untie me! Untie me now!!! she screamed

"No No. not yet. I told you Mitah. I told you about my feelings. But you ignored it. I am a rich man. Are you a fool?"

"You are just a son of a.. bitch. Let me go"She said struggling with the chains her hands were tied in

"You can say that again. It's what I know. Yeah, that woman is really a bitch". After which he pushed her inside a dark room.

"I will only consider releasing you if you accept to be mine. And if you don't, well I have no other choice but to keep you here and use you as I want my dear." He walked out. Mitah was screaming and shouting but no one heard her. She started to cry. She was suddenly worried about her baby. Dino also was still yet to be found and here she was in another mess.

"My baby!.my goodness"She cried but nobody heard her

Lati was worried about his daughter. She left the house many hours ago. It was 9: 42pm at night and his daughter had not come back yet. Lati was guessing she went to Dino's house but he wasn't sure as she didn't mention that to him. But even if she went there she ought to have been home because of her baby who was already hungry. He thought

Lupam, their maid too looked worried as she held Lucas in her arms who was already crying. Lati asked Lupam if she had fed him with some milk in her bottle instead and She answered: "Yes" Maybe, Mr Dino is still yet to be found? Lupam said silently.

"Well, who cares about that? Does she intend to sleep over there? Do you know the telephone number of their house?" Lati said

"Yes", Lupam said. "She has dialled it in my presence before".

"Well dial it then". Lati replied and Lupam dailed it on the telephone.

Amanda, Dino's sister picked up. She was anxious as she picked the phone. Lati took the telephone from Lupam and Amanda answered

"Hello. Who is this? Have you found my brother?" asked Amanda.

"Well. I'm looking for my child right now. Is Mitah at your place?" Lati asked.

Amanda was disappointed, she sighed. "No, she left hours ago", Amanda said bluntly and, and she dropped the phone as she knew that was her father. But she is supposed to be home by now. Amanda said to herself, staring at the wall clock. She hoped she is okay too.

Lati heaved a sigh. He was no doubt disturbed and scared. Where could Mitah have gone then? Or Could she be in danger? Even though, he wasn't certain, He picked his telephone to call for help.

Meanwhile, Dino was still at the kidnappers' den. They refused to give him any real food for three days except a plate of rice without stew which he fed on for only once in a day. Dino begged and asked them to release him saying he was ready to pay double the ransom from whoever sent them.

"We can't risk that okay. One more word from you and we will shoot you in the leg." The head of the kidnappers threatened. They were three in number.

Thungba, their head decided to place a call.

"Hello Sir. This is Thungba. We have been trying to reach you since Yesterday. We have him here in our custody. Should we kill him or we should still hold him captive?"

"Do whatever you want with him. I'm less concerned about that. I am in a more complicated situation" Lati replied angrily as he dropped the telephone. Obviously, he had sent the kidnappers to kidnap Dino. He had been faced with a bigger problem now. His daughter was missing. It has been three days already. He asked his men, (army officers) to comb the whole of Liba. He also placed an announcement on the radio station. But there had been no information yet. For many moments, the world meant nothing to him. Lati was frustrated and unhappy. He angrily destroyed the map on the table.

"Lati, please calm down." His close friend, Camp who was also an Army officer advised. "We will find her. I'm sure. You should eat please. You are gradually losing your weight in just three days!"

Just then, a junior officer entered. He informed Lati that the Tjunction in which she was kidnapped, a CCTV camera was there. "Eventually, it has been established that she was kidnapped" Camp said.

"Kidnapped?" Lati said. Even as an army officer, his heart was already beating very fast. What if they had killed her? She was his only child. He quickly erased that thought off his mind.

"Do whatever you can do to find her. This is an order and a plea at the same time. She is my only child." He said with a bitter voice.

The third day Mitah got kidnapped, in the morning, Nopaz entered the room he kept Mitah in and shifted the blinds making the dark room reflect. He had already untied her. He was with a plate containing Meat pies, French fries and a bottle of Youghurt.

"Look what I got you dear" He said dropping the plate.

"I do not want your food"Mitah said her lips were already so dry and had bruises from the way Nopaz had forcefully kissed her the last night and also had her way with her. Nopaz bent down to touch her lips ." I am sorry to hurt you yesterday but I told you that's what would happen if you don't yield to me" Mitah did not say anything but just looked away and shifted his hands away

"Eat your food. My boys told me you have only eaten two slices of bread since yesterday afternoon. Do you want to die here and make me cry..hummm?" He muttered caressing her face. "This your so called boyfriend must be enjoying. Your body feels so soft and tender to touch! And when did you suddenly add weight this much in a year?" he added laughing out loudly unaware that she had gotten pregnant and put to bed. He brought Mitah closer to himself again attempting to romance her. But Mitah pushed him away. He pushed her arms behind her back and had Mitah screaming and crying. He slapped her face, and after that he immediately stood up regretfully

"Why must you make me hurt you everytime Mitah!.What is wrong with you?. Why can't you just let us to do this over and over and let me get you out of here"

"I don't love you, Nopaz You cannot force my feelings" Mitah uttered breathing heavily.

"Really. But do you remember you once accepted to be my date to the year party whilst we were in Secondary school?"Nopaz said

"That was then. I was Naïve. It wasn't love?... I don't have feelings for you Nopaz, you are only a friend but now that you do this to me, I am not sure if you are even one anymore"

Nopaz stared at her angrily. He rubbed his hands over his curly black hairs. "Eat your meal. I do not want to hurt you right now" With this, he got out slamming the door hardly . Mitah was frustrated. She cried out and didn't know what to do anymore. Or should she just allow him have her way with her so she could at least see his child, see Dino if he had been found and okay. She also knew her father would be worried about her whereabouts. She sighed heavily in despair wiping her tears.
