Chapter 10 Dino's secret agent Erica's love confession

CHAPTER TEN

Dino was going through some documents in his office and he came across some pictures, about a dozen. Pictures of ladies whom some of his friends wanted him to marry, even though he didn't tell them he wanted to. He packed them all aside and picked Mitah's picture. He kept staring at it "If you are still here, Mitah we would have built a future together have kids together. Eat together. Play together, instead you left me. You did not even say goodbye. But I promise I'll bring whoever killed you to justice and take our child to be with me. I will find your killers and I am still trying my best " He said tears in his eyes. According to him, he had an impression that the kidnappers shot her as that was even what was broadcasted on the news. Lati was the first on his list. Lati abducted him and Mitah got kidnapped because she was searching for him. All these were upon him(Lati) and started with him. He made up his mind to file a warrant of arrest on him and press charges with all the power he has. His experience at the dungeon they kept him for four days was horrible and he just couldn't perish the memories

"That devil of a man!"My goodness. Lati was a hard egg to crack, he would not be so easy to arrest, he still had his own people in government. Dino thought as he always did when it comes to him. But what could he do ? All the same, he dialed his phone to contact his old friend, who was a Chief police Officer helping him to handle the case secretly. Just then he heard the bell ring

"Come in please" he said as he hung up. It was Fek, a secret agent he had been using

"Fek, how are you?.. please sit"

"I am fine Sir." Fek said adjusting his suit as he sat down. I have done my researches about what you asked. The kidnappers are out of town presently. The leader of the group, his name is Nopaz, and I heard he liked Mitah. One of the kidnappers, his cousin once trained in our centre. He told me what he knew and that his cousin Nopaz is not actually a kidnapper but a son of a very rich personality. He wanted to have Mitah at all costs was why he kidnapped her"

"He liked Mitah?!"Dino asked quite shocked. How come Mitah never mentioned of him as her admirer. "And where are they now?"Dino further asked

"His cousin said he doesn't know where they are but they are out of the country. I am suspecting he is trying to protect him by hiding his location but I will get it from him even if it is to use pressure"

"No..No, you don't have to do that. Just...God, I don't even...

"But Sir" Fek cut in "His cousin told me how he cried so much after his death that he refused to eat. I don't think he could have killed her if he loved her that much"

"Hmmmm"Dino uttered with narrowed eyes caressing his jaw "Nopaz, Nopaz!, I don't know why I am getting angry just hearing his name.

" "Sir..just let me do my Job. I will find out everything you need"Fek said"You paid me so much money for me to Just relax"

"It's okay. But don't hurt anyone Fek. Do not do that"

"Agreed. I won't"He assured.

Just then, Fek told him he found out an interesting information too

"Your Child Lucas, he attends the Achievers academy "

Dino jolted :"Achievers academy? The same one at Nicolas Island?" Fek answered in affirmative

"Wow, I am having an awareness program there on Thursday as the guest speaker. Guess that's a good opportunity"

"A very good one" Fek said

"Hmmm, his grandfather is still powerful man even though he has retired. That man. Damn it. I have tried countless times to reach to my son but unable to, he still has army of soldiers around his house even after retirement. How could one be so power striven?!Who does that? Even if I want my son, there is no way I could, but since the beginning of this year I have been determined and having that urge to just get what belongs to me and I won't even stop until I do" Dino proclaimed.

"You will" Fek assured. "If you don't mind, you know I am actually ready go to the man's Residence. With another agent of mine. We will get your son for you. But I don't know why you won't let me each time I bring it up"

Dino stood up to pour a glass of whiskey for himself and he gulped it all, and held the bottle to pour another Glass.

"I know why I have been stopping you Fek. If you go, you will only get yourself killed. Some of the days I would go to his house, I would see about five soldiers heavily armed ready to fire at any form of resistance. Those days , I wouldn't even attempt. Another time, I went, I didn't see the soldiers but he called his wild dog at me. That day, I brought a police officer with me. Lati did not listen to what the police has to say before he released the dog. That dog looked terrifying and blood starved. I was shocked the dog didn't attack me. It kept wiggling his tails Instead. The police that came with me as he saw the dog had jumped over the fence already. But still I did not want to take any chances. I just left. My friend that I am contacting right now is now the Chief head of the police force in one of the largest division in the State. If he could at least get enough of his men to go to his house and issue him a warrant!"

"Lets hope to hear a positive response from him" Fek said

Dino was stepping out of the board room after attending a meeting with some medical doctors from Spain. He looked exhausted as he started losing his neck tie. Just then, his secretary appeared, a young black lady in her mid- twenties, she was tall and had the figure of a model. She adjusted her skirt properly which barely reached her knee and cleared her throat

"Hello sir. How was the meeting?" she said collecting the files he was holding from him.

"What did I say about wearing mini skirts to work Erica?"Dino queried tiredly ignoring her question. Erica apologized and said it wouldn't happen again. Dino looked at her and it seemed like she added more make up to the one she had earlier in the morning. However Dino ignored and walked along.

They got to his office, Erica closed the door as they entered. Dino sat down and told her to drop the files on the table.

"I just spoke with the manager of Beez pharmacy Sir, he said they needed six cartoons of acetaminophen and five cartoons of antiseptic cream and they pleaded to pay in installments" Erica reported.

"They are always paying in installments" Dino said as he rolled his eyes. " Inform the accountant and send all their orders after the first install mental payment"

"Sure sir" Erica said adjusting her hair.

"Would you get me a cup of coffee please. Add some creamer" Dino said

Erica nodded and went ahead to the brewer. A minute later, she handed over the cup to Dino. Dino was about to collect it when half of the drink poured on his body

"Gosh! I am so sorry sir" Erica said as she tried to wipe his shirt.

"What is wrong with you, why are you behaving so clumsy since morning?!" Dino said a bit annoyed. He hated his white shirts being stained

"I am really sorry sir"

" It's okay. Get me some tissue" He said. Erica quickly got the tissue and tried to wipe the tea from his shirt but Dino took it from her and wiped it himself

"Now, you will definitely have me changing soon! I can't wear this till the end of today. I have another meeting in three hours. My goodness!" Dino complained

Erica apologized again and looked downwards.

"You know what. You can go now. I will send for you in an hour time"

But Erica stood still

"I said you are dismissed" Dino said. Erica stared at him quite tensed as she scratched her hair "Uhm, Sir. I..I have something to tell you"

"It can't wait?" Dino asked

"No sir. I just have to say it so I can feel some relief in my heart" She said even though she knew that wasn't the appropriate time to mention it, it appeared like it was slowly Killing her.

"What is it?"

"Uhm..Sir. I..I really like you Sir and..I..you are the dream man I have been looking for. You are intelligent, handsome, flexible, decent, caring and hard-working" she said fumbling with her fingers

Dino heard what she said and he didn't know when he started laughing. He wondered what had come over her

"Is that why you poured hot coffee on my shirt?" He asked looking at her keenly the laugh not yet faded from his face

"Oh..No Sir! Absolutely not that was accidental" Erica said in defense

"Hmm. Okay, you know I knew something is wrong with you this morning Erica. I just didn't know this is it. Do you realize I am your boss? And what you just said can have you fired?. You are not allowed to have romantic attachments with me! or any staff here infact!"

"I know Sir however I must confess my feelings. I have dreamt about you so many times"

Dino stared at her. He folded his arms. He quite admired her boldness. He scoofed.

"Erica. I really admire your courage but It's not possible. I don't want to have any woman in my life right now and If I would, it definitely wouldn't be my secretary!"

Erica looked sad and quite embarrassed. She really wasn't expecting any positive answer before.

"Thank you Sir" she bowed as she closed the door and went out.

"What is wrong with this girl?" Dino murmured. Her audacity! "Hmmm" he sighed.
