Chapter 4 Dinner with their parent

I stepped into Temmy's room, her room isn't a typical girlish room nor boyish room. It was painted with black and designed with expensive art work. I gazed at her,she was on her bed in a sit up position with head phone on,eyes closed and arms crossed.

"Take a picture it will last long." She said without opening her eyes.

"I wasn't staring " i said rolling my eyes.

"I didn't say you were." She said not sparing me a glance.

I sat at the edge of her queen size bed. One thing about her that i don't seem to understand was her ,she could be confusing.

"Say what you want to say and stop gazing at me" she said

"How do you know I was here to tell you something."

"For all i know, you only come to my room to pass unnecessary informations." She said coldly. I stared at her silently not uttering any word.

"Mom and dad invited us for dinner." I said

"I'm not coming." She said, i stare at her, when we were kids, she's always the one eager to see our parent but this changed when we clock nine, she became colder, secretive and never wants to see our parent.

Honestly,our parent never give her attentions when we were kids cause she wasn't a brilliant kid s while i was but that changed nine years ago she became the brilliant kid smart with sharp witt which i wasn't her match.

Nine years ago my parent started giving her attentions after an incident which i don't really know the details, but she avoided them like plague till now,i was the only one visiting them and also we are not living with our parent,we live alone cause of temmy.

"Why?" I inquired.

"I don't feel like."she replied her voice becoming colder. I ignore the coldness

"Do you realize that was the same statement you always uttered whenever we were to visit them." I said, she shrugged.

"Is there something you're hiding, if not why do you stop visiting our parent,we started living alone cause of you, its been nine good f*cking years Temmy, don't you care about their feelings,each time of my visitation,they are always sad when you aren't with me.."

"Not like they ever care." She said rolling her eyes.

"Is that what you think,have you ever call them,can you just forget the past,this is not the Temmy I knew, this is not my sister." I said,she snap her head at me like she was stings.

"I can't forget not when its haunting me,not when it's torturing me,its a nightmare that has become part of me." She said,her voice deep with coldness,she clench her fist and gritted her teeth like she was in whatever was haunting her.

I gulped,maybe i shouldn't have said that,what happened really affected her.

"What happened that make my twinnie change, what's torturing and haunting her,i try to think of anything but couldn't figure it out.

My dad and mom gazed at Temmy nervously, have never seen them nervous before 'cause they are strong minded which can't be shaken by any act and yes she agreed to come with me after so much persuasion.

"How are you?" My mom asked nervously breaking the silence at the dinning room.

"Knowing who the question was pointing at, i didn't utter a word,i only watch them. Mom glanced at dad who also glanced at her.

"Tem......."

"Don't call my name." She said icily before mom could finish pronouncing her name. Mom gulped.

"How are you?" Mom inquired almost whispering,i step on her feet gesturing her to reply her. She roll her eyes.

"Great,not like you care." She replied coldly without sparing them a glance,i could see pool of tears gathering in mom's eyes,dad also look gloomy.

"I'm glad you're........"

"Mrs Beatrice Akinsola don't let me loss my appetite." She said her voice deep with coldness.,the tears in mom's eyes fell rolling down her cheeks.

"I'm sorry." Mom whispered,i stared at them perplexed.

"You don't need to apologize,the deed has been done."

"I....."

"Do you want me to leave the dinning room?" She asked cutting my dad off.

"No." Dad whispered

"If you don't, let's do what we are here for,we are here for dinner not some talks." She said,my parent nodded.

"What's happening,i think there is something my parent are not telling me."

Who could have known Mr Akinsola one of the richest in Nigeria could be this meek.
