Chapter 9 The unwanted visit

Laura decided to pay Nicholas a surprise visit at his company today. She knew he wouldn't like that. But he had been avoiding her for a while now. She would try her possible best to win him over again.

She pleaded with the secretary not to announce her presence, as she wanted to surprise Nicholas. But the stubborn woman called her boss first, to confirm. Surprisingly, she was allowed to go in, and directed to Nicholas' office.

She got into the office and met him sitting on the office couch.

Nicholas was surprised and pissed at thesame time, when the secretary told him Laura was here. He didn't know why he eventually agreed to see her. But he needed to let off steam. Or maybe, escape the reality of having to go visit the woman in the hospital.

"Hey there! hoity-toity"

She said, with a seductive smile as she walked in, and shut the door.

She strolled towards him, wearing a short, black dress. He watched her with an expressionless look. She held him and started to unhook his tie. It had been a while since he got laid.

She began to unbutton his shirt. When she got down to the last button, Nicholas was suddenly turned off. He held her hand firmly in place, and stopped her. She raised her head to meet his gaze, only to see the look of disapproval on his face.

There was no explanation. He just wasn't in the mood anymore, and he didn't know why.

He suddenly felt repulsed by her actions.

"What's going on Nicholas? Don't you miss me? "

She asked, her anger gradually building up.

"Don't you miss my kisses, my touch?"

She said, as she kept kissing him on the face, and lips, and went on to massage his member.

"Enough! Get out. I need to be alone."

Nicholas blurted.

"What? Come on Nicholas, you know it's impossible for you not to want this."

She tried one last time, pulling down the strap of her dress to expose her boobs.

"Get out!"

He yelled impatiently.

The shock and anger on her face was evident, but Nicholas could care less.

He wasn't in a good mood. Maybe it had to do with the fight he had with Stanley earlier, who knew.

Laura was furious and dishevelled when she left Nicholas' office. How dare him humiliate her like that! He even refused her advances.

Nicholas Thompson, reject sex- since when?!

She wondered what was going on with him. But she didn't plan on giving up anytime soon.

It's been two weeks since Josephina woke up from coma, and Nicholas hadn't gone to see her.

Olivi was scared that Nicholas might have changed his mind. She called Stanley again to know if all was well with the CEO, and why he hadn't shown up to initiate the necessary arrangement with her daughter. Stanley explained to her that he had gone on a business trip, and would be visiting when he got back from his trip.

Olivia was happy that even with the CEO's absence, everything has been going according to plan.They had even began physical therapy for Josephina.

There was still a bit of tension between her and Josephina. But things were a bit easier since the CEO hadn't visited yet. So they both chose to pretend that everything was fine.

Doctor Alex, walked in with a smile to check on Josephina. He was the special doctor assigned to her. He was a young and handsome doctor. Josephina sometimes thought he was a bit too good-looking to be a doctor.

He was also very nice to her, She didn't know if he was paid to do that, but she appreciated his kindness. He also looked rich too.

"And how is my favourite patient doing today?"

Alex asked, strolling towards Josephina's bed.

"I'm fine, doctor. I feel strong today, thanks."

Josephina said with a smile. She was elated to see the kind doctor.

"Do you really mean that? Or you just want to make my job easier?"

He asked playfully, and a wide grin broke accross Josephina's face.

"I actually mean it, Doctor. You should be able to tell from my face. Don't i look well?"

She said, urging him to inspect her. He smiled and yielded. When he was done inspecting her, she had breakfast. And he decided to take her on a stroll around the hospital. She got down from the bed, And he carefully placed her on the wheel chair, and wheeled her out of her ward.

They were people assigned to do this, but Alex chose to do it instead. He enjoyed being in her company. She was a good patient who didn't give him a tough time.

They strolled around the hospital, gisting. For someone who had been in coma for a month, she didn't look bad at all.

"You remember everything, don't you?"

He carefully asked her.

"Yes, I do. And sometimes, I wish I didn't, doctor."

Josephina said, matter-of-factly.

"It happened so fast that all I saw was a blinding light. But I could swear it was a man who ran me over."

She said, as her anger was gradually building up.

"I'll never forgive the monster who did this to me, doc. How is he even able to sleep well at night? Just how! "

"What if that good samaritan didn't help bring me to the hospital ? What if i didn't make it?"

She shuddered, just imagining it.

"But you did, and that's what counts, miss Peters."

Alex tried to ameliorate the situation. He didn't like that she was getting worked up. He wanted her to always be in a good state of mind, especially for the sake of her health. He was also angry at whoever did that to her, but it was a good thing she survived.

"All the pampering you got from mum wasn't enough, you obviously want more. I mean, Just look at me wheeling the queen, wherever she wants to go."

Alex said, and Josephina erupted into laughter.

"It's not like that, doctor. I can call my mum, so she can take over from you. "

She said shyly. And now, it was his turn to laugh.

Josephina noticed how his eyes crinkled when he laughed, and she felt it was cute.

"I was just joking. Can't believe you actually took me serious."

He smiled at her, and she blushed.

She was tempted to talk about the CEO with him, but she didn't know how .

She wanted to know more about her supposed, out of the blue, fiance.

But before she could speak, the doctor's phone immediately started ringing.
