Chapter 5 Wedding Night

"I see." Rosina smiled wryly.

Her marriage with Caldwell was just a part of the deal. She had no right to interfere in his private life.

Besides, Rosina felt more at ease when he wasn't present.

Only then did Rosina take a closer look at her surroundings. The bedroom was spacious and its decoration was minimal yet homey, with a black and white color scheme and luxurious but not gaudy furnishings. Clearly, it was a bachelor's bedroom.

"This is Mr. Walsh's room," Sabina explained with a smile when she saw Rosina marveling at the room's decor.

Rosina opened her mouth and almost requested that she stay in another room, but in the end, she could only nod.

Later that night, Rosina tossed and turned in bed. It was hard to fall asleep in a strange place, so she gave up and browsed for jobs on her phone.

Only with a job could she have a stable life, take good care of her mother, and give her baby a bright future.

Suddenly, Rosina saw a job listing for a translator. What surprised her was that the company was looking for a translator proficient in the native language of Asicea.

Asicea was the foreign country Perry had exiled her and her mother to.

Even more surprising was the good pay.

So Rosina immediately applied for the job.

After sending in her resume, she put her phone away and gradually drifted off to sleep.

Outside, a beam of white light lit up the yard as a Maybach pulled to a stop in front of the villa.

Soon, Caldwell staggered into the room.

He tugged at his collar uncomfortably, poured a glass of water, and downed it all in one go to relieve the burning sensation in his throat.

He had drunk a lot at Sonya's birthday party.

He was normally good at holding his drink, but he was drunk now.

Caldwell rubbed his forehead and made his way to his bed. Without giving it much thought, he plopped himself onto the bed and went straight to sleep.

The sleeping Rosina felt something stir in bed, but she didn't think much of it and continued to sleep.

In the morning

Streaks of sunlight flooded in like golden threads, lighting up the whole room.

In the bed, there was a woman curled up in the man's arms, sleeping soundly.

To an outsider, they might've looked like a sweet couple.

Caldwell slowly peeled his eyes open. His head was pounding. Just as he was about to sit up in bed, he found that his arm was weighed down by something.

He turned his head sideways and saw a woman curled up in his arms.

Her skin was flawless, and her eyelashes were curved like the wings of a butterfly. Her rosy lips slightly parted as she breathed steadily.

She was lying on her side. Through the neckline of her pajamas, he could vaguely see her round breasts.

His Adam's apple couldn't help but bob up and down. At this moment, he felt an impulse that he had never felt when he was with Sonya. He didn't think that a woman he had only seen twice would arouse him like this.

Meanwhile, Rosina was in the middle of a tense dream. She dreamed that she was being stared at by a fierce lion, as though she were its prey.

Finally, she woke up from her dream restlessly.

But the second she opened her eyes, she saw a man staring at her.

Her half-asleep mind went completely blank for a moment.

Suddenly, her eyes went as wide as saucers and she asked, "Why are you in my bed?!"

Caldwell calmly looked away and lifted the quilt. "This is my bed."

Rosina wanted to retort, but when she saw where she was, she swallowed the words on the tip of her tongue.

"I thought you were out celebrating your girlfriend's birthday? Why did you come back?" Rosina jumped out of bed and retreated a few steps.

Sabina had told her that Caldwell wouldn't be home, so she had let her guard down.

Thinking of that she slept next to him last night, her cheeks were aflame.

She lowered her head embarrassedly.

Caldwell unbuttoned his shirt and glanced at the flustered woman standing in the corner. With a playful smile, he asked, "Is my girlfriend's birthday more important than my wedding night?"

This rendered Rosina speechless.

Their marriage was just a deal. They were not a real couple. What wedding night was he talking about?

But before she could retort, Caldwell took off his shirt.

Rosina turned around in a hurry. She didn't expect that the man would take off his clothes in front of her.

Since that fateful night, she had been particularly resistant to men.

She said quickly, "I'll go out first."

Then, without waiting for a response, she ran out of the bedroom.

Caldwell shrugged it off and went into the bathroom to take a shower.

Afterwards, he was about to get some clothes from the wardrobe when he accidentally knocked over a duffel bag.

All the things inside the bag fell out.

He paused and wondered if it was Rosina's.

The gall. She didn't hesitate to put her things in his wardrobe.

Caldwell sneered and knelt down to pick up the things on the floor. Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of a document from the hospital.

He frowned and picked it up.

Rosina Bentley, female, 18 years old, six weeks pregnant.

That woman was pregnant?!
