Be optimistic!

"...we hope to get your response soonest. and... done." Raymond said to Kyle beaming with smiles.

"So? Do it . Right now."Kyle said.

And with just one click, Raymond sent out the proposal.

"Just two minutes to four, we did it."

"You did it Kyle, what would I have done without you."

"I just combined all your ideas, so technically, it was both our good work."

"I am very happy we submitted this, should we drink to it?"

"We haven't gotten the contract yet, chill, we will drink when we get the contract. It will be a double celebration for us then."

"Okay fine, but I still feel like drinking. Will you join me or would you want to wait?"

"Of course,I will do it for us sir." Victoria said.

"Perfect. So this is just a minute to four I guess we will have to close the link, all interested companies should have submitted by now."

"I will do that just now."

As Victoria brought out her phone,it beeped and a message came in. She scanned through it and saw it was a proposal from a company.

"Someone just sent their proposal now, they are just too lucky." Victoria said and as it clocked four, she locked the link.

"I guess I will take my time to read all the proposals, I have about thirty five of the to read. And study."

"Of course,take your time. And make sure to make the right choice."

"I sure will." She said and stood up to leave but stopped abruptly as she got to the door.

"One more thing sir." Gerald raised his eyes to look at her.

"Why don't we partner with two companies, you know, we could have one win and one loss or two wins instead of just a win or a loss."

"We could have two losses and I don't think we will still have enough money if that is to happen."

"Let's be optimistic sir, and besides, I don't think we can have any loss when I will be there to supervise the whole project."

Gerald laughed. "Alright, make it two then. And" He added. "Don't fail me."

"I won't sir, you will be happy you made this decision." She said and left for her office.

" I guess we can have a bottle or two after work."

"Alright." Raymond said and drummed on his desk.

"What's all the excitement about, you just submitted a proposal, you are not even sure you will get the contract. There are a lot of gaming companies that submitted their proposals, top companies too. Brother,if you don't want to get heart broken don't get too excited about this, don't hope that the best will come out of this."

"Don't blame me bro, I am such an optimistic person."

Raymond said smiling. "Fine,I will try and calm the excitement, it is not as if I want to but, I will try."

Kyle shook his head.

"I will be working late today so I guess I will just have to pull up at your place and waste the rest of the day."

"No!" Raymond shouted.

"Okay?" Kyle stressed the word as he look quizzically at Raymond.

"We can't drink at my house, let's go to the usual bar or we could try a new place maybe but my house is a no, a very big no."

"Why? Is not as if I am a random person about to enter your messed up house. Hold on, you still haven't cleaned your house, come on sir."

"We have been friends for so long yet you still refer to me as Sir and yes my house is still not clean but I will clean it."

"When?"

"Soon"

"How soon?"

"Very."

"When exactly?"

"Stop it Kyle, now go back to work and I am saying this as your boss, go and do your work. I will be at our usual bar, meet me there when you are done with work."

"Okay sir." Kyle said as he stood to leave.

'This guy.' Raymond said in his mind as he rolled his eyes.

Josh kept staring at his laptop reading and re-reading the email he received. It read,

'Thank you for choosing to partner with us, we just received your email,we hope you get the chance to work with us and we sincerely look forward to working with you. Thanks'

He sent his proposal just a minute before the link was locked, starring at his screen,he thought of what would have happened if he had not seen the announcement made by the Shipman company on partnering with a company to produce a game, what would have happened if he didn't submit the proposal before the given time and what will happen if he didn't get contracted. Letting out a deep breath, he threw his head backwards and swayed his seat. Things were going tough for him and in one way he hoped the contract would get to settle everything but somehow, he hoped and wished not get the contract.

Looking at his watch, he shut down his laptop. It was six already, the time he usually close work for the day. He fitted his laptop in its bag ,wore his coat and just as he was about to leave, the door opened and a man walked in.

"Already leaving?" Eric asked as he went inside the office and took a seat.

"As you can see." Josh replied, his words cold.

"Come sit with me son, come,there is no need to be such in a hurry." Eric said as he tapped the space on the couch.

"I need to go home,I am tired I need to go and have a very good rest."

"Ah, don't be like that son, It feels like you are running away from me. I am your father or have you forgotten that?"

With an angry face, Josh went and sat with his father.

"Did you submit the proposal?"

"Yes, yes I did, anything else?" Josh said harshly.

"It's a good thing you submitted the proposal,we wi..."

"Anything else?"Josh asked again cutting his father short.

"No."Eric replied.

"Good." Josh said and walked briskly out of the office.
