Chapter 10 Unexpected Truth

"Come on, Bliss.

Tell me!" Cathy whined.

Bliss pursed her lips to stop herself from saying anything more. A smile tugged at the corners of Cathy's mouth; she knew that her maid was hiding something from her. She placed her hands on Bliss' shoulders and smiled.

"Bliss, you wouldn't hide anything from me even if I lost my memories, would you?"

"Of course I wouldn't!" Bliss' face flushed. 'How can I hide the truth from Mrs. Mu? I shouldn't have said anything in the first place.'

"That's good. Let's go back to my room and continue the conversation."

Cathy smiled and dragged Bliss to her room.

Bliss had no choice but to follow her. Panic rose in her heart.

'What's wrong with me? Why couldn't I hold my tongue even for a second? How am I going to explain about Kerry to Mrs. Mu?'

Francis changed his clothes and walked out of his walk-in closet. His eyes darted at the photo frame on the bedside table.

His face softened as he picked the frame and trailed his fingers across the picture.

A smile crept on his lips when he saw the girl smiling in the photo.

Her beautiful face and warm smile made him forget everything. She was the sunshine in his gloomy life.

"How are you, Kerry?" he muttered.

A loud bang snapped Francis out of his reverie.

His jaw tightened; the smile on his face vanished in an instant.

He put the photo frame back on the bedside table, as if nothing had happened, before turning to look at the door.

The loud voice was from Cathy's room.

Francis clenched his fists as disgust and hatred consumed him.

Cathy slammed the door and sat on the bed.

"Okay, tell me about Miss Tang." The curiosity and excitement were evident in her eyes. Cathy knew that Catherine loved Francis, but the man's hatred confused her. She couldn't understand their complicated relationship.

Their marriage was a mystery to her.

Bliss averted her gaze and stood up. "Mrs. Mu, are you hungry? Let me get you something to eat."

Cathy nodded and grabbed her hand.

"I want some sunflower seeds!

Stories and sunflower seeds are a match made in heaven, you know. I love them." "Huh? Oh, all right."

Bliss left the room and looked for a packet of sunflower seeds before returning.

Cathy moved to the sofa and rested her legs on the tea table.

She tore the packet open and began to munch one seed after the other whilst shaking her legs.

Bliss looked at her in astonishment.

'Mrs. Mu has changed into a completely different person after the accident.

She doesn't even look like a graceful lady anymore.

It's unbelievable!'

"Bliss, stop staring at me and start with the story," Cathy reminded her.

"What?" Bliss blinked a couple of times and cleared her throat. "What do you want to know, Mrs. Mu?"

Cathy popped a seed into her mouth as she began to think. "Let's begin with Miss Tang. Who is she?''

Francis had reprimanded her for touching Kerry's favorite flowers. She was curious to find more about the woman and the relationship she shared with Francis.

"Miss Tang is..." Bliss hesitated.

Cathy rolled her eyes. Bliss's hesitation piqued her curiosity; she leaned closer and placed her hand on her arm, squeezing it reassuringly.

"What's her full name? What's her relationship with Francis? Why did he scream at me for her? And... do I know her?"

Bliss's body trembled; the intensity of Cathy's gaze frightened her.

She swallowed nervously and involuntarily moved backward. "Her name is Kerry Tang. She is the only woman Mr. Mu has ever been in love with."
