Chapter 9 The CEO's Female Companion

Before going to the Li family, Jacob accompanied Kate to dress up. She was a charming girl. After dolling herself up, she became more glamorous, like a haughty queen.

Jacob looked at her and paused for a few seconds. Satisfied, he nodded and said, "You're really good-looking in that dress."

Hearing his praise, Kate couldn't help but want to show off. She giggled and uttered, "Of course. Don't you know how pretty I am?" There was no trace of modesty in her tone.

Jacob smiled and shook his head. He looked at her smug face and said with a casual smile, "Yes, your majesty. Let's go."

With these words, he reached out his hand to Kate like a gentleman. However, instead of taking his hand, she just lifted her dress. "Let's go," stated Kate in an imposing manner.

Jacob was slightly stunned, naturally withdrew his hand, and followed Kate.

Kate, who was leading the way, was still a little bit hopping while walking because her foot wasn't fully recovered yet. Wearing a long, purple low-cut dress, she looked indescribably stunning.

People were quite fond of such an exquisite woman.

When Jacob and Kate arrived at the Li family, the party hadn't started yet. Jacob took Kate to Brian's study room.

At the sight of Kate in a long low cut dress, there was a flash of amazement in Brian's eyes but quickly disappeared within a second. He leaned against the desk, staring at her quietly.

Kate's body was fit and in good shape. The tight-fitting dress outlined her curvaceous figure. Her supple, snowy white skin, with her luscious red lips slightly glistening, and her pair of bright, sparkling eyes were even breathtaking.

He didn't expect that an ordinary girl could be so attractive after dressing up.

Kate wasn't a shy type. She didn't feel anything when Jacob looked at her with his unscrupulous eyes. Anyway, she was wearing a beautiful dress to flaunt it.

However, when Brian stared at her the same way, she was a little embarrassed and didn't dare to look back at him. Her heart beat fiercely.

Seeing this, Jacob considerately left and closed the door for them.

After working as Brian's assistant for several years, Jacob knew a lot about him. Kate seemed to be the first person who had this effect on the CEO.

"Not bad," said Brian as he stood up and walked towards her.

Seeing that Brian was approaching, Kate stepped back. Her pretty eyes were filled with fear. She was a little terrified.

Since the kiss last night, Kate had known that Brian was like the usual men.

As he got closer, she had reached a point where she couldn't move back any further. She leaned on the wall with her bare back while staring at him, standing in front of her.

"Thank you for the compliment, Mr. Li." Though Kate was scared, she managed to smile at Brian.

"You're welcome." Brian smirked. He hooked her chin with his fingers and looked down at her like a king.

The CEO was smiling so coquettishly!

Kate's smile was as bright as the sun, while Brian's was like equinox flowers blossoming in the netherworld, reflecting all his glamour and charm.

Kate was totally attracted by his big smile.

As his handsome face got closer, Kate suddenly came to her senses and gently pushed him on his broad chest. She whispered, "This is a violation on our agreement."

According to their agreement, one could not force the other party to do all and any intimate actions.

Brian frowned and asked in a low and hoarse voice, "Am I, in any way, forcing you?"

"Yes..." confessed Kate in a low voice. But when she saw that Brian frowned and gazed at her with his dark eyes, her heart trembled, and her mind was in a mess. She added, "No, definitely not." Then, she put on a fake smile on her face.

'Kate, you are so spineless!' she scolded herself in the heart.

After saying it, Kate felt so regretful that she really wanted to slap herself. She had to resist him! He was her boss, and was paying her salary. But so what? 'Is money more important than my own purity?

Isn't money more important than purity?' In her mind, Kate was in a dilemma.

She was shocked by what she had come up with. She clenched her fists and was ready to fight against Brian. But before she could do so, she saw that Brian reached out and removed a petal from her head.

Kate was embarrassed. She had gone through a lot of psychological struggles just now. And when she finally wanted to defend her purity, it turned out that the CEO wasn't aiming to kiss her at all.

"Now, you look upset. Do you want me to kiss you?" Brian looked at her. His pair of black eyes seemed to contain a speck of bright starlight.

"Of course not!" Kate reflexively roared at him, only to realize that she was talking to her boss. She couldn't help adding weakly, "No..."

Brian was still standing in front of her. From his height and angle, he could see Kate's tempting collarbone and alluring cleavage. Her long hair was casually falling over her shoulders, making her even more bewitching.

'The woman is really a tempting lure tonight, ' Brian thought. All of a sudden, he was reluctant to take her out for the gathering. He wanted to enjoy her beauty alone.

After a while, Brian sneered at himself and withdrew. 'There are so many women who are prettier than her. I don't need to be head over heels for her.'

Seeing that Brian retreated, Kate was finally relieved. Her trembling legs slowly recovered.

His too overwhelming momentum almost made her weak.

When it was about time, Brian brought Kate out.

The party was lavishly grand. They said that it was only for Lily's 18th birthday, but in fact, it was mainly held to find a husband for Lily. Most of the wealthy families did things like this.

Lily looked enchanting. She was the star tonight. Even though Kate was gorgeous, she couldn't steal the girl's thunder.

The couturier designed every dress and jewelry only for Lily, and they were all tailor-made for her. She was wearing a moon-like dress, luxurious and dazzling jewelry, and paired with extremely delicate makeup. Undoubtedly, Lily was the most glamorous heroine tonight.

However, when Brian and Kate appeared on the reception hall together, everyone was watching them. No matter where they went, people were focusing on Brian.

Kate felt nervous, tightly holding onto Brian's arm. Although she knew that everyone's eyes weren't glued on her, but on the man next to her, she still felt tense. When she saw that the spectators' attention was drawn to Brian, Lily couldn't help but smile proudly.

It was as if the man in the center of attention only belonged to her.

"Brian!" At the sight of Brian, Lily rushed to him like a canary.

Brian caught her and held her upright. "Mind your manners. Don't act so rashly like a little girl," he advised like an elder.

Lily stood in front of him and obediently nodded her head. Her smile was purely innocent and brilliant.

One was like a gorgeous princess, and one was like a handsome king; as for another one... she was like a graceful queen. The combination of the three undoubtedly captured everyone's attention.

Brian slightly smiled and exhorted Lily. Regardless of Lily's dissatisfied protest, he took the astonished Kate away.

Yes, Kate was anxious the whole time since the moment she walked into the hall. It was her first time to attend such an extravagant party.

The sound of clinking glasses and flattery were heard everywhere. Women's carnal glances came from all directions.

Of course, she wasn't the one who was stared at, but the CEO, Brian.

She admitted that Brian was good-looking. But wasn't it too much for those girls to look at him with such eyes? 'My husband is neatly dressed. Stop looking at him like that!' Kate yelled in her heart.

'Wait, my husband? Did I just call him that?' Kate was taken aback by the thought that came out of her, and she hurled away the thought in a panic. The CEO belonged to everyone, not hers.

While talking to all the big figures, Brian took a look at Kate. He could see that she was either in a trance or did some strange movements. He knew that she had some weird thoughts in her head again.

"Oh, Brian! It's been a long time!" A sweet voice came from nearby. Kate only felt as if a cold wind was blowing behind her. Then a woman in a very foxy dress came in front of Brian. Her ruby red lips were even more mesmerizing because of the red wine.

Kate felt a little chilly and tightened her hand that was holding Brian's. He sensed her uneasiness and looked down at her. Kate turned her face to Brian and hid behind him.

"Hey, isn't this Kate Luo? The big shot of Z University." The woman looked at Kate for a moment, and then laughed louder.

Kate had nowhere to hide. She stepped forward and smiled at the coquettish girl. "Hello, Mona."

Kate stood calmly in front of Mona Chen and forced a bright smile.

But apparently, Mona Chen's attention wasn't on her. How she wished that she hadn't been seen by Mona Chen. However, for Mona Chen, Kate was absolutely a topic.

"Brian... Why are you with Kate? When we were in college, she was very popular in our school." Mona Chen tried to hold the other hand of Brian, but was gently avoided by him.

With a stiff expression, Mona Chen drew her hand back in embarrassment and took a slight glance at Kate. Her beautiful face suddenly twisted. She recalled what Brian said a few days ago. He said he already had a fiancee. Why would he bring Kate here now? Was Brian's fiancee Kate?
