Lora's POV
I held on to my breath, my hands shivering as I tried to keep them on my lips.
My eyes bulged out of their sockets as I saw the blood splash all over the place. My mother stared at me, empathy in her eyes. Her silence was praying for me to stay alive.
The murderer threw her body down, like a worthless piece of trash.
"No, how could you!!!" My father roared moving closer to his wife as he stared at her tears streaming down his face.
That was the first time I had ever seen my father cry. And that was the last time I saw my father. The knife flashed through, piercing deep into him as he screamed in agony.
But he smiled, staring at the body he held in his hands. He couldn't feel more satisfied.
My tears were flowing like a river when I saw him, a smile slowly rising on his face. The same words I thought my mum had said, he repeated.
"Live well." He mouthed before his body ran cold. His hands, which were around my mom, dropped, and his eyes closed.
I sat there horrified, hoping the murderer wouldn't move close.
But deep down in me, I hoped he did. I wished silently for him to come and also kill me but that wish was never fulfilled.
Still scared, I balled my fists. The tears flowed like a default mechanism. My heart tightened as I stared at the corpse which stayed right before my eyes.
What sin? What exactly could he have done to deserve this?
Why would they do this? The questions rang in my ears. As the rain began to pour. Heavily.
I shivered in the building, but I was too scared to come out. What if? What if the predator was still there? What if he wanted my life?
Who would find out the truth then?
These questions kept me standing. I curled up under the cover as I stared. Hoping to catch a glimpse of who he was.
I waited and waited and then thankfully, he walked past.
But the face only left me more shocked. It was Cyrus. "The famous Cyrus. Why would he?" I asked myself but I wasn't able to answer.
I wasn't even able to get a clearer view as my vision blurred.
My temperature rose, as I felt my breath getting weaker. I blinked, trying to hang on to my life, but it was too late.
I fell unconscious under the cold breeze.

By the time I woke up, I was already taken in by an association. A dangerous one. I was educated on all the dealings of the gang.
But thankfully for me, they were only sent to kill unrighteous ones, and I didn't have to bear only blood on my hands.
When the time was right, the job came in. My trainer, Reya. An old and retired assassin called me to the information room.
"I got your call," I reported with a stern voice and she turned to take a look at my posture. Anything wrong with it and I would be dragged away.
Stripped of my chance of having a mission and stopping my training.
After a few minutes of staring, she nodded and continued on her footsteps, moving closer to the computers arranged.
"We got a new mission, and the boss said we should reserve it specially for you." She said, making my eyes ring with interest.
The boss? The one who saved me. What could he have kept for me?
"I think you should be ready enough to take this mission. It's not a long one but a strike and kill. Though it's very dangerous for you as a beginner, but..." she paused her words.
Turning back to me slowly as she glared like expecting me to do something.
"Move closer!" She said,
"He mentioned that you should be let free after this, I mean if you survive. You really should be."
"You will be sent out in the next three days. The full moon will be out and from our forces, he is weak at that time. Make sure to remember everything I taught you and only."
"I only attack when the full moon is out," Reya said, and she took a glance at me, and I nodded.
She turned back to the computer, putting in a few words and the picture popped up.
My eyes widened open seeing it. I would recognize that face anywhere.
It was Cyrus.
The one who killed my family.
My eyes squinted as I turned towards Reya afraid to make a reaction. She also faced me and smiled.
"This is your target. You can start preparing now and you will be assisted by the headquarters." I nodded, lowering my head as my hands balled into a fist.
Finally, I had the opportunity presented right in front of me, and I wasn't going to let it go.
I camped outside the Alpha's residence for three days. The team sent to assist me with all the weak points of the traps set against predators.
I studied for nights, memorizing where he stayed and his activities.
And finally, the day arrived.
But it didn't go as we had planned. A party was suddenly held in the evening. I tried thinking of what to do but to my joy, the party ended before the moon came out.
I warmed up in my tent, getting ready to attack when I got a message. "The full moon isn't coming out today, you have to attack either way. The alpha will be too drunk."
The message left me perplexed as I tried to figure out what to do. Time, however, wasn't on my side.
The guards were changing shifts soon and because of the party that was suddenly held, they weren't going to change again till morning.
I had to devise a plan and I had to do it fast.
