About

When fiercely independent Aria Bennett lands a job at Knight Enterprises, she expects a challenge-but not in the form of her impossibly arrogant, maddeningly handsome boss, Damian Knight. Cold, calculating, and used to control, Damian sees employees as tools and emotions as weaknesses. But Aria isn't just another assistant-she's fire in high heels, and she refuses to back down. What starts as a battle of wills soon ignites into something neither of them can deny. As secrets unravel and tensions rise, Aria finds herself caught between ambition and attraction. Damian may run a billion-dollar empire, but in matters of the heart, he's met his match. Will love soften a heart built behind walls of steel? Or will pride ruin the one connection neither of them expected? Power. Passion. Pride. Sometimes, the most unexpected love story starts with a war.

Aria's jaw clenched. "I'm not desperate. I'm qualified."

A slow, dangerous smirk curved his lips. "We'll see."

That was the beginning. Of the worst-and maybe best-decision of her life.
