Not Pregnant Again
Chloe's POV
"Sorry, the test was negative!" The family doctor, Mr. Charles broke the news to me as I sat in the middle of his office and my heart sank.
"Thank you" I muttered in a sullen tone, I rose and exited the office. I had mistaken some signs for pregnancy but I was wrong.
I guess I had been too desperate to have a child and right now, I was ready to do anything just to get pregnant.
Although my husband Lyon was a wreck in bed and barely satisfied my sexual needs, my yearning for a child of my own had overshadowed his flaws. I didn't care if I reached my orgasm or if he ejaculated after a few thrusts leaving me unsatisfied and empty, what mattered to me more than itself was being a mother.
It's been six years now since my marriage with Lyon, it has been one miscarriage to another, leaving me barren. I have tried everything possible, taking all the pills that were recommended to me by the doctors, yet they all seem futile.
And now, the thought of how I would break this news to Lyon again shattered my heart. I knew that I needed someone to talk to and if there was anyone whose words would soothe the pain that I was feeling, then it was Sherry, my childhood friend.
With the thought of her wrapped around my head, I immediately made a phone call to her, but after ringing desperately for countless times, it went straight to voicemail.
"I guess she must be busy at work" I tried to console myself but it did not seem like it was working, all that I wanted was a child, yet despite all my efforts, it wasn't working.
As I drove back home, my heart was heavy, tears prickled down the corner of my eyes, I felt so lost, the pain hanging firmly in my chest yet I knew that I still had to be back at home in time to make dinner for Lyon.
As soon as the car came to a halt, I realized that Lyon's car was also parked at the other side of the mansion.
"Guess he is back home early today" I muttered to myself with a long frustrating sigh that escaped my lips. Wiping off every strain of tears from my eyes as I scurried inside.
"Honey, you're home early!" I called out but the silence erupts in the whole house. He usually does not come home this early, except in an emergency.
The thought of how I was going to break the news lingered around my chest, and sadness crept through me, yet I knew that I had to be strong for the both of us. I was going to discuss it with him after dinner, the last thing that I needed was anything that was going to ruin our dinner.
Scurrying through the stairs, there was an awkward sound emanating from our room, one that I could not place my hands around. The further I went through the stairs, the more clearly the sound was emitting, like a female moan, but I knew that wasn't possible, there was no way that Lyon would bring another woman back home.
Curiosity engulfed me, and as I swung the door open, my eyes widened in utmost shock.
Lyon had his hands wrapped around Sherry, he kept on placing kisses around her naked body, his hands could not stop caressing her, with utmost lust that consumed his eyes, one that I never thought he could feel for any woman while thrusting back and forth inside of her.
Sherry clutched onto him firmly, her moan could be heard from across the hallway as she bit her lips seductively, no doubt that she was enjoying the moment, and even though she was the first that had seen me when I walked in, she curled her lips and smiled shamelessly.
"No.... This isn't happening."
I clutched onto my chest, slowly drifting backward as the pain intensified. It felt like I had been cut into tiny little pieces.
"Chloe?" Lyon called out to me as soon as he noticed my presence, he jerked away from her, his hands scrutinizing the room in search of his pants.
Sherry clutched firmly onto the blanket, there wasn't even a hint of remorse in her eyes, and the more that I stared at her, I noticed the devious smirk spread across her lips.
"What are you doing back home Chloe, I thought that you wouldn't be back until later today?"
Lyon requested, his eyes widened as he was trying to get a grasp of the situation. My gaze still trailing around the room, I badly wanted to believe that this was not true, that it wasn't happening right now before my eyes.
I had just caught my husband with my best friend, but no matter how much I didn't want this to be true, my heart was already choking on it, making it difficult to breathe.
"I am sorry that you had to find out like this, I was going to tell you about it."
"You were going to...." I stutter, still unable to form the right words.
"I am sorry Chloe, but this marriage between the both of us is no longer working and you know how much I badly wanted a child, that was all that I asked from you, yet you couldn't grant that to me, I will have to divorce you!"
"Divorce!" Lyon said the words with not even a hint of emotion in his eyes and as I froze there with my world crashing right before my feet, I could not believe that this was the same man that I had been married to for six years.
